Went based on a recommendation from someone who used to frequent the restaurant quite regularly. Not sure if it was an odd day but it wasn’t enjoyable; half rack of ribs was tough and dry while the fish in the fish and chips was dry and rubbery, while the batter was way too greasy. Not sure what the deal was with the mushy peas but they had an odd taste and were cold too. The chips were nice at least but I left disappointed. Didn’t finish either course and the poor server looked a bit lost as to what they should (nothing other than asking if we’d like the dessert menu). If it were not for the fact it was expensed for work, I’d probably be a little miffed but on the bright side, I know to give them a miss next time I’m in Guernsey.

Had delicious food and drinks there! On the pricier side, but location, atmosphere, portions and food quality were all superior! Safe bet! Highly recommend

Fabulous time here. It is dog friendly, you can sit outside (no reservations needed) or sit in (you would need to book in advance for this). Service was quick, good selection of beers. The food was fantastic – I had a shortened menu for the Euros and went for the burger with extra bacon and onion rings. I wolfed down the burger, it was beautifully cooked. The staff are super friendly and one went out of their way to get a stool for my small pup.

Good choices for everyone.
Kids menu was good
All our mains and deserts were lovely.
Guinness in a can wasn’t ideal (being picky)

I had a really enjoyable Saturday evening meal here and would love to return. It’s half bar, half restaurant, but throughout there’s a great atmosphere with really nice modern decor and great staff. Despite being a lone diner I wasn’t made to feel rushed and the different members of staff made me feel really welcome.

There’s only a couple of choices of wine / red wine available by the glass but the service time was always quick which was great. There’s a decent range of food on the menu which the staff seemed knowledgeable about, although unfortunately my first choice of monkfish wasn’t available. Instead I opted for the sharing platter, which they also offer in a portion size for one – don’t be fooled though, it is still very large!

Despite it being a slab of various meats the presentation was surprisingly good and the flavours equally as impressive. An additional option of vegetable or similar wouldn’t have gone amiss, perhaps two corn cobs instead of the one, but otherwise it was great. No room for desert afterwards!

There’s a decent amount of seating outside in a courtyard too so it’s a restaurant for all occasions and, considering the level of service and atmosphere, I felt the prices were reasonable. I’ll certainly be returning next time I’m in the town.

Arrived on Saturday around 18:00 it was lively many people drinking and eating. Shown to our table and were asked if we needed any drinks. Service very quick and friendly. Wide variety of choice on the menu with portions a reasonable size. Food tasted good and the House fries are worth a try, some people have them as a main. One of the best Sundays that I have had very filling you should also try the cookie pan. Overall a great experience never rushed and great service

What a fabulous place.
Plenty of outdoor seating including a small terrace up some stairs which overlooks Havelet Bay?
Great decor, plenty of seating in outdoor bar area, good selection of beers and friendly service.
The interior took my breath away, an upper tier in a horseshoe shape with tables for diining.
The open plan of the floor and roof space with fabulous trusses and beams .
Still in place is the rail and hooks where the animals were hung up.
Food was great, roast beef cooked as I like it, with all the trimmings for me, friends daughter had a chickpea burger which she devoured, and Scrote had Moules in a rich Guernsey cream sauce.
Great service, and a nice atmosphere made better by the smells coming from the kitchen.
Advisable to book as I can imagine it is a place that’s gets hammered .

Nice venue and service but the fish burger, fries and ‘korean’ slaw were so lifeless. After some veg I also ordered some broccoli which was deep back to the stoneage and just had a mush texture with no flavour at all.

Very nice, marked down on atmosphere as a Tuesday evening so can’t expect it to be booming but we were out on top floor away from some others, rib eye steak was really really nice, I was over from the UK with work so I didn’t pay but I would , nice lager too

For a big group to enjoy a Friday dinner,
this place is a total winner.
Your night get brighter, will shimmer.

Not just the generous and tasty food,
But the place is vibing, you’ll get in the mood.
Buzzing music on the outside bar,
will encourage you not to bring your car.

For sure, the best option is meat,
although plenty of options for vegetarians and sea food to eat.
The menu is diverse, just neat,
And of course, dessert for after if you need something sweet!
