The food and service was fantastic. The filet was so buttery and well seasoned, one of the best steaks I have ever had. Chicken Schnitzel was amazing. Drinks and rolls were top notch. This place is pricey, but we felt the excellent food and evening matched the price. We had an incredible time and will return!

Let me start by saying the service at Slater’s was absolutely top notch! If you want a decent meal where you feel very taken care of Slater’s has that down pat.
I have to say I am slightly confused about the menu. One of the sides we ordered was onion rings, and while my husband and I agreed that they were the best onion rings we had ever had it felt off to eat with fancy steak. I had the chicken which was good, but I’m still not sure what it was on top of. The Blue crab soup was AMAZING. The steak with chimichurri was acceptable.
The ONLY thing that was a miss for me was the atmosphere which feels super odd to say because it feels like the atmosphere should be so great. The way our table was situated made us feel like we had to compete for conversation with the table next to us. It was just weirdly loud. And the lighting felt off for an intimate dinner. But that is all kind of petty just my two cents.
Next time we will get a reservation for the front room rather than the main dining room and maybe that would improve that.

Everything was wonderful from the servers to the wine! Only negative was our steaks were slightly over from the temperature ordered. However, still super tender, juicy and delicious! Only photo I took was of the bottle of Zinfandel we drank! Excellent wine!

This steak house was incredible. From our appetizer oyster rocker fella, to the grouper and the New York steak. My steak was juicy, cook exactly the way I requested. We had the peace Bellini bread pudding, excellent!!!!

Got into town for the UGA national title celebration, Go Dawgs. Looked up and found this gem. Friday night didn’t even think about needing a reservation. Walked in the manager greets us and I requested a table for 2. I was asked about a reservation and I said “I don’t have one”. Side note, the owner was also with the hosting stand. They talk for a second about availability. They really did have anything available (if not I definitely wouldn’t have been upset), but made room anyways. Thank ya’ll so much not only was the food amazing but the fact they did this for us was remarkable for this day and time. I will say that speaks volumes just about the care for the customer. Our next trip to Athens will definitely include dinner here, but with a reservation. This is a must place to enjoy a perfect cut of steak. The waitress was perfect, the food was perfect and the manager and owner was the most genuine you will meet. Again I can’t thank ya’ll enough for making room for just the 2 of us. 10 stars in my book.

Read the menu online before we arrived to understand their offerings. The menu says prime steaks, so my understanding is that they serve USDA prime grade steaks – my New York Strip was very tough and a bit overcooked. The steaks here are not cheap y’all, I don’t mind paying for something of great quality, but my steak, in my opinion, from selling beef boxed beef, many years ago was just not a prime grade steak. Sides were good, the dessert, chocolate cheesecake, was not homemade. Don’t mind paying for quality at all, but it needs to deliver.

“All Sizzle No Steak”. The atmosphere and the wait staff was great. The food was less than desirable. My son and I got the ribeyes and when that came out they were at room temperature and had a char taste as well as 3/4” thick. Too thin.. Such a letdown for a $700 tab.
