SLATE in Camarillo is an amazing dining experience. The atmosphere is modern and upscale, perfect for a date night or a nice dinner out. The food is outstanding — the steaks are cooked perfectly, the sushi is super fresh, and the cocktails are some of the best in the area. Service is consistently attentive and friendly, and the presentation of every dish is top-notch. Definitely one of Camarillo’s best restaurants. Highly recommend!

This was definitely one of the nicer restaurants we’ve been to in Camarillo.

The food has a nice attention to aesthetics. Overall, it was quite tasty.
One caveat is that the crispy rice roll had rice that was quite glutinous and hard to chew. Normally, crispy rice rolls should be crunchy but now hard/chewy.

Our servers were very nice.

Overall, it’s clean and colorful, with good lighting inside.

There are TVs, which is one of my least favorite things in a a restaurant, but they aren’t obtrusive.

Bathrooms were clean.

We’d eat here again!

Good was great.

Service was really nice but a little stretched thin it felt

Only weird thing was not being able to choose your side. Some people just want fries with their steak lol!

Definitely will be back for the food quality tho. Nice clean place. Hope it does well

Appetizer was burnt. So was my salmon burnt. I had to pick most of it out. Hospital tasting fried rice. Was not a fan of the service either. Completely disappointed with everything over all sushi was delicious other than that. Everything else was awful. I wouldn’t recommend the salmon with hospital fried rice to anyone.

I loved the short ribs. The butter cake was delish too. I especially like that they serve Ritual zero proof liquor. I was able to enjoy an espresso martini and hang out with my friends without feeling left out! The atmosphere is wonderful and the server was amazing. I would highly recommend!!!!

Great service, great food, nothing extraordinary however. Positioned as upscale, no complaints. I see many people for the happy hour, I would recommend. Somewhat limited hours.

We’ve been customers of Slate since it opened years ago (8?). It recently had a remodel on the inside which I’m not a fan of – seemed like trying to be upscale but didn’t work.

Wait staff was good but the hostess was sadly very underdressed and not professional looking for a high end restaurant. She could have been more friendly too.

The Variety in curated drinks is completely gone and the variety in meals is gone. This was a stellar part of the original Slate. We found out they have a new chef – is it under new ownership or something?

This used to be a place you could go and get a meal you’d see On the food network with crafted and well done side dishes with quality star entrees. I had the ny strip with mashed potatoes and green beans. Nothing was wrong but it was really OK. NOT what I would expect for a $48 plate.

We were there celebrating an anniversary which we noted on reservation. No one acknowledged this.
Overall this place has gone way downhill from what it was. Midweek no one was on the patio for happy hours. Shocking, never used to be.

I’m not sure we will be back. Will take our $160 likely elsewhere. I hope it makes a comeback

Its my new go to spot for dinner especially since i can walk here. Reyna my bartender is always a bundle of joy. Free large parking lot available. I highly recommend the chicken potstickers and fried chicken chardonnay with spring vegetables dish. They have a great dinner for two option as well which i well try next. And they make a wicked espresso martini with baileys.

The place is absolutely beautiful. The owner is super nice and welcomed us in. The service was great. The menu is simple and easy to navigate. The options are fairly spread, and everything looks delicious.

I had the sliders, sushi, and frys. The frys were crazy good. The sliders were like what mama used to make but better. The sushi was good. I will come back for sure.
