We are staying at an Airbnb down the street in Oceano and we decided to hit Slappy’s for a casual dinner. What a great idea. Unfortunately they were out of Tri-Tip, which is what 4 of us wanted. I guess not ‘out’ but a 30 minute wait. We didn’t have time, so we made other selections on the fly. Half of us got chicken sandwiches, and the others got corn dogs. To quote my son, ‘If a Wendy’s chicken sandwich is a 5 out of 5 stars, then Slappy’s is a 7 out of 5 stars. So good.’ And the corn dogs are huge. I got an order of onion rings, and between that side and the corn dog I was stoked, and left feeling full. But not so full that I couldn’t add on a soft serve ice cream cone. Love the food, and love the atmosphere of the outdoor dining as the sun was setting over the ocean. I will definitely be coming back to order the tri-tip, even if I have to wait.

This place’s tri-tip is delicious and it is slow roasted overnight. The service was very good because they were nice and gave me a free refill. There were only 4 tables but the food is easy to eat on a car.
