I came here mostly to try the clam chowder but ended up getting their lobster mac n’ cheese as well. The clam chowder was a bit disappointing not only in terms of the size but also the flavor. It was just not that tasty and seemed a bit under seasoned—and I’m not someone that goes all out on salt to begin with. The lobster mac n’ cheese was probably the saving grace but to be honest, I think it would have tasted better without the lobster. For the price of both of the items, the amount of clam or lobster doesn’t seem to justify it, at least not for me. Given the price point, I would have expected more and also would have expected sit down service. It was more of an express order type of place. The wait staff were amazing though so remember to tip.

We went here mainly to try their fish tacos but got a bit disappointed. The flavor of the fish is lost with all the other ingredients. The clobster grilled cheese is really good though.

The only highlights at Slapfish were the friendly customer service and the hot fries. Everything else fell short. The fish looked promising but was surprisingly bland, and the lobster hush puppies, though moist inside, were unevenly cooked. Even the tea wasn’t labeled as unsweetened, which was frustrating. Looks can be deceiving—unfortunately, the taste didn’t live up to the presentation.

Went there for the first time. Wasn’t planning to go eat but to check out Broccoli Bill’s. We haven’t been there for several years. We were surprised to see Slapfish there so we grabbed a late lunch. The ladies there were super nice and the food was fresh and flavorful. Definitely will be back with the whole family.

Good quality food with reasonable prices and above average amount.
Highly recommend their salad bowls, surf &turf, and clay chowder.
The restaurant has plenty spaces and is clean and organized well. Staff is friendly and food preparation is fast.

First time visit with family; food was hot, fresh and delicious. Woman who took our order was a professional! She knew the menu inside and out and made some really great suggestions. 5 stars for sure.

I usually have had good food here, but last night was drastically different. First the fish and chips was horrible. I had two pieces of fish that basically had no fish in them, just batter. The lobster deviled eggs had hardly no lobster in them at all. The clam chowder was excellent but the cup size has gotten smaller. The lobster roll my wife had no real meat to it just buckle and claw pieces. Had we not been in a hurry I would have taken it all back. Very disappointed.

I found Slapfish while visiting the Carmel Christkindlmarkt with friends, thanks to its glowing reviews and specific sourcing for seafood. The experience was fantastic, from the descriptive menu, its welcoming staff, to the opportunity to chat with the owner, Mark.

The menu stood out because of its thoughtful details, letting customers choose how their fish is prepared (grilled, blackened, or fried) and sharing information about its sourcing. Dawn, one of the staff members, was helpful and patient. She answered all our questions and accommodated special requests, like adding pineapple to the Power Bowl, putting the raw vegetables on the side, and serving the bacon on the side for the clam chowder.

The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, satisfying, and beautifully presented—all at a very reasonable price. We tried the Power Bowl, Ultimate Fish Taco, New England clam chowder, lobster bisque, and lobster roll, and everything was delicious!

It was also wonderful to learn from Mark that the adjoining grocery store is owned by his parents and that Slapfish’s Indiana locations are family-owned. I love supporting local businesses, especially when they are run by kind and dedicated people who prioritize quality and service.

I look forward to visiting Slapfish again the next time I’m in the area and will tell anyone who gets a chance to stop by. Here’s hoping they expand to the Chicagoland area soon!

My cousin suggested I try this place. I was excited to try it for the first time on 6/27/21. This establishment is located in a rural area. Slapfish is a modern seafood restaurant. It is self serve.

On this day, I was craving for lobster roll so I ordered one at the counter. Service with taking the orders is typical. The worker who took my order was pleasant. Cost at the time was $24. I selected the Cole slaw as my side with a fountain drink. Drinks are refillable. The lobster comes from Maine. My lobster roll was truly delicious and flavorful. The lobster was fresh! Loved my slaw as well. Since then, I’ve been back two other times. Brought my daughter here to try as well. She loved it too!!

When back in the area, I will definitely be eating here again.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We recently dined as a family at Slapfish for a dine to donate event for our local school. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food came out hot and fresh. I ordered the Lobster Grinder with a side salad. The bread that the lobster grinder came on was out of this world. It thick and had the right amount of crisp on the outside but the inside was soft and pillowy and full of buttery flavor.

The filling was generous and had just the right amount of spice to not be overwhelming but still pack a decent punch (at least for me because I really can’t handle too much spicy). The boys ordered from the kids menu – the perfect portion with a main dish, side, and a drink.

We had a great time and even got to chat with the owner for a few minutes who thanked us for stopping by – super friendly and genuine. My boys really enjoyed speaking with him. We can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu but it’s going to be hard to order something different because I really liked the grinder and once I find something I like, I tend to order the same thing every time.
