I don’t usually write reviews, but this place honestly surprised me. Slake Sip and Savor is one of those spots that doesn’t look flashy, but the food speaks for itself. The smash burgers are cooked fresh and have that perfect crispy edge with super juicy meat.
What really stood out to me though was the Slake Sauce. I asked for extra and now I understand why people talk about it. It’s creamy, slightly tangy, and somehow works on everything, burgers, fries, even just dipping. You can tell the place is run by someone who takes pride in the food because everything tastes fresh and made with attention. If you’re around Blacksburg and want a burger that actually feels different from the usual fast food chains, this place is definitely worth checking out and don’t forget to ask for extra Slake Sauce. Trust me

I literally have been getting slake almost every day and I never get bored from it!! I like how simple and not crowded the menu is and my best go to meal is that crispy chicken with the slake sauce and ofc the crispy fries with the grilled onions. Highly recommended!!

The food here is okay. The burgers are very small and not that great – mine was a bit dry. The french fries are also just okay. They didn’t even melt the cheese on mine 🙂
There are much better burger places in town especially for the price you are paying.

Slake is one of my favorite late-night food spots. They have a wide selection of food, my personal favorites are the smash burger and the chicken and rice platter. The serving size is perfect with more than enough food to leave you full and just enough to take home as leftovers. The atmosphere is cozy with warm ambient lighting and a modern touch to the interior, plus an absolute fireeeee playlist. Shoutout to the lady at the front! Amazing customer service!

Personally the food is really good and the taste stayed consistent to me. I am an active customer and I would recommend their fries and chicken as they are tasty. This place is really good for those that can only eat Halal food, and I am glad to have a place to fit my accommodation. One more thing, the chicken over rice is really good and is a must-try.

I’ve been going to this place with my boyfriend for months. I find that they have a pretty good cheese burger and amazing seasoned fries. I’ve had amazing service while I’ve been there (at least 5-10 visits).

I am a student nearby and I come here about three times a week because the food is so good and the people are very nice. Every time I walk through the door I am greeted with a smile. My food always comes quickly and is absolutely delicious. I will continue to be a regular here for as long as I’m a student!

One of the employees was incredibly rude. After not getting my food for a while, I went and asked about my order number. Employee said he had already completed it and someone had taken it. I told him that I had not gotten my food, to which he responded by telling me one of my friends (sitting right next to us) took it. I pointed out that none of them had what I had ordered, and he accused me of lying about it. The older employee was friendly and offered to make it for me, but I was disappointed by how rude the younger one was. The food itself was fine, nothing to write home about but fairly decent, especially for late night food options.

The new post-rebrand management is much less friendly than what once was at Black Salt. They also don’t work the claimed hours; the single employee working on Sunday @ 10 PM refused to make the order claiming “we don’t take orders at this time.” In addition, the “slake sauce” that is supposed to come with the fries is never put on the plate unless you verbally ask for it. When you do, the manager goes on to ramble about how it’s made in-house and they don’t have much of it.
