Being from Wisconsin we are not lucky enough to have a Skyline Chili close by. We did not know they were outside of Cincinnati, so it was a great surprise to find one in Dayton. The food was great, service was fast and friendly. Being from Wisconsin we loved the amount of cheese on both the Chili and the Cheese Coney Dog. We wish there was one closer to us!

All I can think is that Skyline Chili must be an acquired taste. I’m not from Ohio, but have heard this one of the foods that originated here.
I ordered a three way. It is a bowl of hot water with some over-cooked spaghetti noodles a little bit of chili and a bunch of shredded cheese. Something had an odd taste. Not sure if it was the chili (which kind of floated in the hot water) or the cheese. Either way, I didn’t care for it. I can check it off my list, but I wouldn’t go back.
I do have to say that the young lady who waited on me was very friendly and helpful.

The food’s always hot, and delicious. The service is always fast, and friendly.
There’s only one problem I have with dining in there – the lighting. It’s waaay too bright in there – it’s like being in a department store, or a hospital!
You see, Skyline has smaller, more intimate, comfortable lighting, in the form of hanging shaded lamps over their tables – which they do use. Unfortunately though, they also choose to use really bright overhead fluorescent long bulb lights in the ceiling, that make their restaurant seem more like a cheaper diner, and feel like the hallway in a hospital. It’s waaay to bright guys – turn it down!!!
Those smaller, more intimate lights alone, would really make the place seem more comfortable, and warmer.
Also – think of the money you’d save on your electric bills!
Give it try, and see what happens. Nothing ventured – nothing gained.

My 5-way was delicious as usual, but the service Cass provided us was even better than the food. Skyline is lucky to have Cass as an employee. Thank you Cass for the outstanding service!!!

Erin, Tressa, Emily were my hosts today at this Glizzy stand. Had 3 plain Coneys. The food was normal, but these 3 lady’s had fantastic conversation and the dining room was super clean. Over all my experience was excellent.

Went through the drive thru and had a simple order: a 4-way with bean and a chili cheese fry with sour cream and chili ranch. I don’t know how you repeat the order 3 times and still manage to mess it up. Instead of sour cream, I got plain ranch. Also, they asked if we wanted the sour cream and chili ranch on it or on the side, in which we said on it. First I looked at the fries and saw nothing on it. Low and behold they were on the side and not correct. So instead I got charged for something I did not even want. Second of all, we ordered the 4-way with bean and they continued to ask what it was multiple times. I worked at Skyline before and its not that hard. Will not return after this.

I was told when visiting the area I HAD to go to Skyline Chili. I was very hesitant but I’m glad I went. The front end staff was a bit busy and short when I first walked in. I sat at the bar and the waitress was so great and helpful. I was able to watch everyone work together and get a surprising amount of food out in a timely manner. I ordered the small 5-way and it was great. I also got an order of funnel fries to go, totally worth it!

Our waitress was wonderful. Can’t remember her name, but she was very bubbly and enthusiastic. Took our orders quickly and came back to check on us often. Portions were very generous, and restaurants also get a better rating from me when they serve Mountain Dew. We got an order of chili over spaghetti and a burrito supreme. Both were delicious.
