All I can say is “WOW”! Wow, and congrats to the staff & mgmt on running the BEST skyline in the country. I took my boss and his girlfriend here on friday for a late dinner and we were absolutely smitten by the service/atmosphere/cleanliness of restrooms. All smiles from the staff and the food was beyond amazing. We were there almost 3 hours!!! lol ! We are so lucky to have little gems like this in our town : )

Growing up in SW Ohio, I’ve eaten at skyline my entire life and I’ve eaten at this particular skyline regularly for the last 8 years. It is without a doubt, substandard. The chili tastes different, the buns aren’t prepped the same as back home and the cheese on top is cold. It’s not something worth coming back to when I’m craving actual skyline chili.
The service is the cherry on top. Maybe it was an off day for my server, but they had ear buds in and I had to get them to repeat literally every sentence they tried to convey to me. I have no idea what the total bill was at the counter because it was incoherent. The other employees standing behind the counter didn’t give me much faith that the place had any standards (brand standards, health and safety standards, etc.)
I see a lot of positive reviews here and I’ve had fairly good experiences here since 2017, but after today, this location will be shelved for me. I’d pay 10x more to eat at the Oakley skyline over this one and had my server actually, coherently told me what I paid for my three sloppily made coneys and doctor pepper, I’d guess it cost fifteen bucks. This place needs more management involvement or corporate oversight if you ask me. Today, it was simply not Skyline.

You know the more I travel and the more I eat, the more I learn what I like and what I don’t. I’ve learned that I only kinda like skyline chili. Not because it’s not good, but it’s not great. It’s cinnamon/cumin/cocao/cloves (4C’s) covering up bland chili and unimaginative flavor (Sorry Cincinnati, but Texas got it right, plus they invented it. Its the cheese, not spaghetti or chili. And cheese alone can’t carry it’s weight. It’s every kids dream food, but what happens when that kid grows up and finds caviar, sushi, dry aged prime meat. This starts to feel like a struggle meal and not in the nostalgia way
I’m not going to get into how the 4 Way is just a chili dog subbed bun for noodles and minus the dog (onoins, not beans, otherwise it’s a stew).
160 locations for a commercialized regionalized dish that when put to the test and debated with locals (who have traveled) can’t stand the weight as to what makes it good, not just unique.
I think it’s totally worth it to try, but it’s not something you need to go to Cincinnati to get, so as I was passing thru Louieville I stopped here, find your nearest one and after 1 visit and 1 dish you’ll get the jist, not overly explained and set up by some Cincinnati native steering things.
The service is good becuase the table side service actually makes a difference. The decor is somewhere between corporate and kitchy. Prices are on the reasonable side, but once you make it at home you kinda realize it’s not. Your paying for an idea that’s good, not great. The same thing could have been done with Curry Noodles, it’s kinda like Poutine for Canadians.
It’s good food and a consistent meal and experience, but a little simplistic and underdeveloped, they really could have taken this flavor and combination much further and not leaned so much into the spice profile being different than Texas. I often call it the Starbucksification of foods.

Skyline Chili at 1266 Bardstown Rd is officially our chili obsession headquarters! We loved it so much, we literally drove out of our way twice just to get our fix—and yes, it was worth every extra mile.
Let’s start with the Coney dogs—holy deliciousness! Each one is a perfect little chili-covered masterpiece. They’re juicy, flavorful, and somehow manage to make you feel like a kid again with every bite. Honestly, if happiness had a flavor, it would be a Skyline Coney.
And those chili crackers? I’m convinced they’re sprinkled with unicorn magic. I may or may not have tried to smuggle a bag home. Don’t judge me.

Love Skyline! I drove 45 minutes to get to one. Tried the new Graeter’s Skyline ice cream too. It is surprisingly good! The crunchy crackers in it were surprisingly. I wish they would put a Skyline in Elizabethtown, KY !

I was a part of an online order. I ordered 5-way and for the side habanero cheese. I got spaghetti noodles and chili. I was told there was a separate bag with the cheese and onions. I did not get any cheese of any kind…no onions…and we were in Indiana. I called them and she blamed it all on the delivery service…She wouldn’t offer to fix it..I mean we even had a hot dog missing. It was the worst and I would of been ok with that if the customer service was better…She wouldn’t even offer any kind of replacement…This was only my second time eating their food…This was me giving it a second chance..NEVER AGAIN..you lost my business and some of my friends with the terrible customer service..What happened to the customer is always right?
