A wonderful dinner celebrating my husband’s birthday. Our server was very kind and attentive. Really warm atmosphere. Assorted breads and mussels were exquisite. Enjoyed the cinnamon cocktail and red ale. Swordfish and Cajun pot pie were very tasty. Impressed with the 7 dessert options (brought out on a tray!) – ginger cheesecake was decadent. Our car got stuck and we were struggling to reach a towing company. The staff was concerned and even offered to help push the car out if no one could come. Really felt welcome, this was our first time here after moving to the area. Looking forward to returning! Honestly the most enjoyable fine dining experience in the Upper Valley because of the food, ambience, and hospitality.

This was one of our favorite spot to dine during a trip to Woodstock. A very cute and local feel to this place. Food and service get 5 stars. On the weekends, one must make a reservation. Also check on hours of going there as it varies by days.

As a local, it was hard to believe this place could be so good since we had never heard about it and it is in the middle of nowhere! Went for a friend’s birthday dinner and, wow, what a treat! It is in several small rooms of a very old house that used to be an inn. The eclectic atmosphere and historic ambiance made for a warm and homey vibe. You need to make reservations because seating and parking are limited. We sat at the bar, which seats 6, where Heidi took great care of us. What a sweetheart! The drinks were amazing, and the food was top-notch, local, fresh, everything made from scratch!! This means it takes a little longer to prepare, and it was pricey but well worth it for a special occasion. We will definitely be back! It is family-owned, and everyone, even the chef, interacted with the guests – you can feel the family ties here. These folks have a very special thing going on, and it is working, and apparently, has been for many years. It didn’t appear that the building was wheelchair accessible and the bathrooms were up very narrow stairs on the 2nd and 3rd floors, so if you have mobility issues, this may not work for you.

What a lovely place! My partner and I liked it so much that we had to come back for a second night.
Our favorites were:
the fish and chips
friand (asparagus and brie in puff pastry)
the augustus cocktail
the maple crème brûlée
Highly recommend stopping here, trying the delicious food and getting to know the locals!

This is a really Charming place! We were heading back to Massachusetts and looking for a spot for dinner. The tavern was pretty full but they made a table for us and squeezed us in! The service was personal and the atmosphere was delightful. The food was wonderful as well. Recommend that you make a reservation.

Stumbled into a gem Wednesday night. Dinner was outside and live music started soon after we got there. Could tell crowd was local as lots of hugs with staff as they greeted them. Food was outstanding starting with breads and I had the chicken Carlos (Cajun fried chicken). Just a fun relaxing atmosphere. Also took home a few desserts.. not sure how inside dinner is but sure would go back.

Beautiful tavern with indoor dining room and outdoor dining, wonderful, fun & friendly staff, and the food is amazing! Menu changes and ingredients change for the dishes but fresh and creative and served hot. The stuffed mushrooms were perfect and burgers are one of the best we have had. So glad we went-loved the name!

Wow, almost 200 yrs old and still thriving. Great service and food is as advertised. Had the Chicken Carlos and Fish and Chips, both were excellent. Tonight was an open mic for entertainment but we couldn’t stay to enjoy. If in town, go, but go early. Gets busy fast.
