This is our new favorite restaurant in New Jersey. This is a place any diner would be lucky to have in their city. The chef here is at the top of his game. The staff here is lovely. Skratch kitchen is a gem of a restaurant.

The chef served a seasonal jersey tomato salad with burrata that I’ll dream about until next summer. The complimentary bread has to come from a great bakery because it was remarkable, too.

They also served roasted potatoes that came with a side of crème fraîche or sour cream. I’d go back just for that side dish alone.

But the moment that sealed the deal was the handmade pasta for the kids. The chef took the time to use the mantecare technique (emulsifying the sauce with cheese and butter) to finish it perfectly. This sounds silly but every parent that has ever ordered a kids pasta at a restaurant that gets that level of care knows the rest of the plates are going to be spot on. It was, unbelievably, my favorite plate of the night, which says everything you need to know about the quality, considering every other dish was utterly bonkers. It’s BYOB and that makes me happy as well. Plan ahead. Reserve in advance! You guys are great. Keep the faith! We’re looking forward to visiting soon.

We had a large table for a retirement dinner and the staff were amazing! Olivia was our waitress and went above and beyond to not only make the toddler in the group happy but a special dessert at the end for the celebration. Everyone absolutely loved their meals and the appetizers. The pork loin special, stuffed rigatoni, and flatbread appetizer were all delicious. Definitely recommend!

The restaurant has a cozy, intimate atmosphere that makes dining feel warm and personal. The wait staff was professional, great menu with variety of choices, Italian flare, seafood and steaks. Talented chefs! Apps, meals and dessert absolutely delicious. On my top 5 personal restaurant list! Will definitely make a reservation to be back outside of vacation. And love that it’s BYOB!

My husband brought me here tonight with our daughter and friends. This is hands down the BEST place I’ve ever eaten. Amazing food, amazing people. Everyone was so kind, it was just all around perfect. We will be back! Can’t wait to bring more family. You MUST go here. The caramelized figs were my absolute favorite and the stuffed rigatoni was the best dish of the night! Everything was fresh and delicious from the clams, to the cod, shrimp etc. so worth it

Food as always is amazing; staff, our waitress also amazing; our table near a window was a little chilly, but keep in mind it was 4 degrees outside as we were having dinner.

The owner gave us a free dessert because it was so chilly inside. Good news is the food will still be awesome, and one day this god foresaken winter will end!

Ate there for the first time with my family tonight. A smaller restaurant with great ambiance. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was excellent. We all shared a Burrata appetizer and a polenta bolognese appetizer. I had the octopus and calamari entree. It was delicious. I’ll be back!

Skratch Kitchen – A Must-Visit in Bradley Beach

If you haven’t been to Skratch Kitchen in Bradley Beach yet, now is the time to go before the summer rush makes it one of the toughest reservations in town. This rustic, cozy spot has an inviting atmosphere, and Chef-Owner JT delivers an unforgettable dining experience with every dish.

We started with the Comfy Meatballs & Grits, a warm and satisfying appetizer. The Fried Eggplant Carrozza was crisp on the outside and creamy inside, while the Grilled Shrimp was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The Roasted Cauliflower was another highlight, bringing out deep, rich flavors in a simple dish.

The Pappardelle Bolognese was the ultimate cold-weather comfort meal—hearty, rich, and deeply satisfying.

For mains, the Chicken Parm was generously portioned, crispy, and covered in just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The Bistro Filet had a bold, robust flavor that stood out, and the Shrimp & Grits was a bowl of creamy, savory goodness that hit all the right notes.

Dessert, though, was the real showstopper. The Carrot Cake was easily the best I’ve ever had—and might be the best you’ll ever have, too. Moist, perfectly spiced, and topped with incredible frosting, it was unforgettable. The Classic Tiramisu, with a dusting of pistachio, was a fantastic take on the traditional version, bringing just the right amount of sweetness to end the meal.

It’s no wonder Guy Fieri made sure to stop at Skratch Kitchen during his visit to New Jersey. If you haven’t been, don’t wait until summer—go now and experience this gem for yourself!

mixed bag. had the grilled shrimp, and the cajun clams for appetizers. they were both very good. the chicken parm came out way overcooked and the sauce was way too salty. i love salt, so you know that was a big problem. this should never have been brought to the table. the Arugula salad was also quite bland and not tasty at all. we left disappointed, particularly given the prices that we paid. would not go back.

The food was fantastic and exotic. I didn’t love that they don’t serve alcoholic beverages there, but our waitress quickly informed me that there was a wine shop right next door that I could pop over to. The atmosphere is romantic and intimate, it’s a small space but perfect for a romantic date. We loved it.
