Disappointing for somewhere I’d heard so many good things about. I ordered shrimp & grits with blackened shrimp. The shrimp were terrible. Wayyyy overcooked and literally black — blackened does not mean burnt! It’s a seasoning! The fried oysters were okay–a little soggy. The mac & cheese side was good. I may back to try something else and not order anything blackened, but I may go to blue bay instead.

Always Worth the Stop!
Skippers Fish Camp is one of my absolute favorites — every time I’m in the Savannah area, I make a point to stop here! The atmosphere is unbeatable, especially sitting out on the patio overlooking the water. It’s the perfect spot to relax, watch the boats, and enjoy some of the best seafood around.
The peel-and-eat shrimp is amazing — definitely get the blended garlic and spicy sauce. It’s packed with flavor and perfectly cooked every time. And honestly, their unsweet tea deserves a shoutout too — I can’t figure out what brand it is, but it’s so smooth and refreshing I wish I could buy it for home!
Between the great food, friendly service, and that beautiful river view, Skippers Fish Camp never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area! ☀️

My wife and I stopped as we were traveling through almost 2 months ago. The restaurant was recommended by a family friend who says it is favorite restaurant anywhere. That friend and us live 3 hours away in Florida. The place did not disappoint. The food was delicious. We had the large seafood platter fried. The collards were fantastic. We will be planning our travel this weekend going home to Florida around stopping at Skippers again. Looking forward to it!

Wonderful food with a great vibe. Whether you are in the mood for seafood or bbq, they’ve got you covered and the servers are very nice and efficient. Look forward to coming back to taste more things on the menu.

The service was wonderful, but unfortunately the food didn’t meet the same standard. The oysters lacked flavor and were greasy, and the cheese grits were bland even after adding the extra cheese the waitress provided. After spending over $40 on lunch including the tip, I left wishing I had skipped skippers! Sadly, I don’t plan to return.

Seafood is yum! We ordered mahi mahi for fish. Will recommend seafood than brisket here of course

Now, I came in with limited expectations because we are on the Georgia coast, so certain seafood dishes should not be a problem. Server staff was excellent from accurately taking our orders, refilling beverages w/o asking to even swapping out food that was overcooked, dried out and tough to chew. As a party of 5 with various requests, things can get tricky. I did try the key lime oysters which turned out to be an interesting appetizer. Portion sizes were plentifully. Pricing was in line with current seafood restaurants. Unfortunately, the entrees tasted average except for the key lime oysters. Ample seating available indoors. Outside is setup as a perfect lounging/gathering spot for patrons. Check out the turtle pond, get a pic in the oversized Adirondack chair and don’t feed the gators. Parking is free. This place is located on the river’s edge…

I was so excited to try this restaurant after reading all the reviews and traveling a long way. But unfortunately I will not be back. I was so soooooo disappointed to discover that my shrimp were not clean. I stopped eating it after seeing that. The Mac and cheese is good but has wayyyy too much pepper in it!
