So we came on a Wednesday night was not too crowded. Wifey was wanting Italian so we came here. It had been a while since we have come. Didn’t Disappoint..
We were greeted immediately and sat very quickly. Mariah was our waitress and she was excellent and very attentive and checked on us frequently. We ordered some drinks & appetizers I had the skipolini’s old fashioned which is made with Old Forester , it was excellent and Bacon wrapped Jalapeños , they were delicious. Also ordered the Caprese salad, which was very fresh and delicious. Just the right amount. For my main course I had Cajun pasta and it was delicious perfect amount of sauce and it’s the right amount of spice. For dessert had the crème brûlée gelato and got it to go. My only drawback on anything was that the gelato did not really taste like crème brûlée at all but it was still good. Ambiance is very chill with low lighting and cool decor . Wife and Son also enjoyed their food as well. Was a nice evening out.

Enjoy !!!!

“Lemme tell you somethin’ about Skipolini’s…”

So I walk into Skipolini’s in South Reno, right? First time here. And immediately I’m thinkin’, “OK, this joint’s got class — real famiglia vibes.” Big ceilings, warm lamps hangin’ down, walls full of old-school Italian-style family imagery. And the kitchen? Wide open, like they got nothin’ to hide. You see the dough flyin’, the sauce simmerin’ — makes you feel like you just stepped into Nonna’s cucina on a Sunday.

Karen was our server — fast, friendly, on point. No messin’ around. We got seated quick, got our drinks quick, food came out even quicker. They got a full bar too, lotta people sittin’ there lookin’ real comfortable, so you know the bartenders are on their game.

I go with the 10-inch mushroom and pepperoni pizza. Now listen… this pie was buonissimo. Nice undercarriage, crispy like it should be. Maybe — maybe — I’d leave it in the forno one more minute for my personal taste, but I’m tellin’ you, the flavor was spot on. You ain’t leavin’ disappointed.

My girl orders the BBQ chicken pizza on a gluten-free crust — and lemme say somethin’. Gluten-free crust is usually a gamble, but this one? Fantastico. Thin, crispy, flavorful — chef deserves a salute for that. Not everyone can make a GF pie that actually tastes like a real pizza.

You add in the warm ambiente, the charm, the nostalgia — plus the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like part of the famiglia — and honestly? This place is a five-star joint all day.

If you want Italian with heart, tradition, and a little bit of that old-school soul… Skipolini’s is where you go.

Place is ok on appearance. Gives cheesecake factory vibes. then you sit down and look at the menu and I would hardly call it Italian. I ordered the godfather penine and it was flat and tasteless. The meat was rubbery and there was nothing for toppings. My wifes lasagna was OK. And the service wasn’t bad and wasn’t good. My stomach did not feel good for about 3 hours after eating here as well. I wasn’t impressed

First time trying this place out. I had basic spaghetti and meatballs and wasn’t impressed. The sauce was 75% water and bland. Meatballs were good.

Service was great and it’s a nice atmosphere.

I come here all the time with my daughter and we are never disappointed. The staff is always friendly/knowledgeable, and the food is top notch. You actually feel like you are getting your money’s worth here. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good Italian food.

Visited my brother and he took us to this restaurant.

First impression when i walked in was the restaurant was beautiful and very clean. I liked also see an open kitchen.

Service was good! Only thing I didn’t enjoy is I ran out of my drink when my food was there and had to wise s few extra minutes for a refill when I was trying to flush some food down.

Other then that it was amazing!

The food is very fresh, flavorful and tasted like quality ingredients!

The pizza dough was the best I have ever had!

I’ll definitely come back next time I visit.

I recently visited Skipolini’s for the first time, and while there were some positives, overall, I found the experience underwhelming. As a chain Italian restaurant, the ambiance felt a bit dated, with furniture that could definitely use some refreshing.

The wine list was impressive, offering a good variety of options, but unfortunately, the red wine I ordered was a letdown. It tasted old and sour, suggesting the bottle had been opened for several days. After taking a few sips, I walked over to the bartender, who was kind enough to replace it. It’s something I shouldn’t have had to do, but I appreciated the quick resolution.

The food took longer than expected to arrive, which was frustrating since I was quite hungry. It would have been a nice touch if they offered some warm bread while I waited. When the food did come, I was disappointed. The grilled chicken was very dry, and the salad dressing was way too sweet for my liking. The lasagna was overloaded with cheese, making it feel heavy rather than comforting. The Sezer salad also had an odd topping of salami, which didn’t feel authentic or necessary.

Overall, the meal felt more like American-style cuisine than the light, fresh flavors I associate with Italian food. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but it certainly didn’t live up to expectations. I would consider trying other locations in the chain, but based on this visit, I’m not in a hurry to return

We originally went to Rananza, but when we arrived, the front desk host stuck up guy said they were sold out. I never heard of a sold out restaurant, but it worked out for the best, we end up at Skipolini’s and so glad we did. My party of 3 was nicely greeted by the host and was seated immediately, we had a lovely waitress name Karen, she was delightful and attentive. Our entrees was excellent!! And the bottle of red wine was so good and smooth that we killed that bottle in no time. Honestly this Italian restaurant deserves more stars then a 4.2. We started off with an appetizers Buffalo prawns and wow they were so good, the prawns was to tender and succulent. I had the Shrimp scampi, and the shrimp was prawns, not tiny bay shrimp and cooked just right – succulent, the sauce was so flavorful. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant and on the pluse side this place doesn’t close till 10:30pm on the weekends. One more thing, the portion are huge

Revisited this restaurant in the afternoon when it was not busy. The servers who talked to us have been nice, and the food was well cooked. Deserved 5 stars.

I have no complaints about the food. It’s really good. I deducted 1 star because the service was slow. The server was nice and friendly but too busy. The restaurant should hire 1 or 2 more servers for Saturday night.

If you read my review and still go here you deserved it. Utterly disgusting, . This isn’t food, it’s over salted reheated garbage. There’s a chipotle across the street why in the world would you go here. I wish I read some of the other reviews before coming here. Ordered the prego pizza and seafood cioppino and looking back I wish I just stayed hungry instead of eating this trash, this is worse than going to McDonald’s.
