It’s our first time eating here and the atmosphere is fun. It’s just a little hole in the wall off a little mini mall. Kind of thing by the river. It’s got a great outdoor seating overlooking the river. The barbecue was fantastic. So moist. So good! Tender and they have several sides. We had the mac and cheese which was really good and we had an armadillo egg which was huge and basically is the stuffed jalapeno average price for barbecue. Like I said I will definitely coming back.

This place was an amazing find! We were biking through town and had parked our bikes at the intersection below. We decided to head up the hill to find a place to eat to avoid the heat and crowds from the vendors that were in the park. We spotted this and figured it was worth a try. Probably the best food we had in all of Iowa on our trip. I got the chicken quesadilla with the cucumber salad as a side and my partner got the same except he got the potato salad and baked beans. Our friends both got burnt ends with coleslaw. The portions were great and the quesadillas were loaded. We probably would have been good with just one between the two of us.

What a great place to eat lunch at after a hike! The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was good!! We had a fantastic view of the Mississippi river, which was a plus!

Just moved here from Cincinnati and got a recommendation from a couple of new friends. The brisket was amazing and the establishment itself was very nice. Jamie was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. If you’re within an hour or so, it is worth going here. The bar nextdoor is nice as well. Perfect spot for a date night or good smoked meat for lunch. The amount of food you get for the price is also well worth the visit. If you leave hungry, it’s not the restaurants fault.

Delicious food at a great price. Serving size ample, even a little left over to take home. The sauces were on point! Especially the mustard sauce. Indoor dining was very enjoyable. I’ll be taking the family here again for sure.

We just visiting the area, we came across this gem. We instantly fell in love with the authentic BBQ atmosphere. The staff could see we weren’t from around by our deer in the headlights look. They were very pleasant and helpful and gave us their recommendations. We listened and the entire family was happy. The food was incredible left us wishing we were closer. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
