Tried Skinny Louie for the first time thanks to a BOGO Uber Eats promo on their Applewood smoked bacon cheeseburgers. Since we hadn’t had it before, it felt like a good opportunity to see what the hype was about. The only modification we made was to double up the patties for an additional $3 each.
Skinny Louie does smash burgers which are thin meat patties smashed onto the grilled to get a nice crust. Our order was ready within minutes, and they didn’t seem very busy at the time.
The burger was decent, but definitely on the salty side. With a thin patty, the salt really stands out. I also found it lacking depth of flavor and felt it needed ketchup or another sauce to bring it together.
Overall, I’d rate it a 3/5. The saltiness and the need for a condiment to elevate the flavor held it back for me. My pregnant wife independently rated it the same, so it wasn’t just a one-off issue.
I’m honestly a bit confused by the very high ratings (4.9/5), as I didn’t really taste the hype. That said, I’m open to trying it again in the future with a different burger, toppings, or sauces to see if it lives up to what others are experiencing.

Not worth your money. It was almost $19 for burger, fries, sauce and a soda. It was an alright burger, but nothing special including the sauce. You cannot add anything to your burger. Five Guys has better burgers and unlimited toppings. Save your money and go elsewhere.
