Since 1996, Skinner’s Pub has been family owned and operated. We are located in the historic cornerstone of downtown Brookings, built-in 1901! A place all its own, where customers are treated like family. Our cocktails are freshly squeezed, and we do not use mixers! Our pool league is two nights a week; we also have a dart league one night a week. Live music once a month during the college season. Ordering food from outside establishments is encouraged. This place hasn’t changed much since I attended college here 10 years ago. Absolutely love the atmosphere, and the outdoor patio is such a treat. A few unique drinks, very affordable beers (you can’t go wrong with a tall mug), and lively atmosphere with the pool tables and seating areas.

Pretty good bar. My favorite in Brookings. It’s more laid back and not as rambunctious and loud as some other bars here.
You can have a conversation with people here. If you want to just grab a beer with a friend and catch up, I recommend this place.
Three pool tables here (costs $1.50 to play a game) and a fooseball table ($0.50 for two balls I believe).
Of the three bartenders I’ve encountered here so far, all three are good and social people. This place must hire great bartenders.
Surprisingly, this bar also has cheaper prices than other bars in town. In my opinion, this place is literally the best in every category.

The best outdoor drinking spot in town. Sadly ruined by all of the smokers. My friends and I would love to frequent the patio, but can’t stand cloud after cloud of smoke wafting into our faces.

Rude manager turned off TouchTunes when 10 songs were queued up, three of which were mine. When asking for two dollars back since I wasn’t able to get what I paid, I was told “it is what it is” and basically told to buzz off. As someone experienced in the bar and restaurant business for 6+ years, the level of conflict resolution skills were atrocious over a stolen $2.

Such a neat place. This bar has been around since the dinosaurs, and I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s so dark in there, so who knows if it’s night or day. They do have a lovely patio area, so snag a seat there in warm weather. If you are inside, get one of the seats by the big front windows. You can bring food in. Pro tip: Pizza King will deliver!!

I think this is a great place to grab a few drinks and hang out. They have decent prices and great specials. The bartenders are always friendly and helpful. The only downside is it’s usually pretty packed and the service can be backed up on busy days. The crowd also creates a lot of volume. If you like the full bae atmosphere, which a lot of people do, the weekends are great here. Otherwise, Wednesday and Tuesday night’s are my favorite.
