Pete and Molly Skinner are life-long Saint Paul residents and have owned Skinner’s since July of 2000. Pete has cooked at perhaps twenty different bars and restaurants in Saint Paul and knows his way around the grill. In fact, Pete met Molly while they were both working at the former Tower Tap on Snelling. Pete and Molly had been looking to open their own place for many years when the opportunity to open Skinner’s Pub came along. They continue to work to improve the place and make sure everyone has a great time when they are here.

Skinners checks all the boxes! Cheap drinks, solid deals, amazing wings, strong margaritas, and huge pizzas and nachos that are perfect for sharing. It is the kind of place you go when you want something reliable and satisfying without overthinking where to go.

Always busy, always lively, and always feels like the right choice. It has that classic dive bar energy where you can show up as you are, grab a drink, order food, and settle in. It is comfortable, unpretentious, and exactly what a neighborhood dive bar should be.
Food:
The food goes far beyond what you expect from a dive bar. The wings are a standout, the pizzas are massive, and the nachos are loaded. Everything is filling, shareable, and perfect for a long night or a casual hang.
Drinks:
The drinks are affordable, the margaritas are great, and there is always some kind of deal happening. It is easy to stay longer than planned, and honestly, that is part of the charm.
Overall:

I’ve come here a few times now and each time the food is on point. It’s a little bar in the front, dining on the back and they have a patio. Each day they run specials but the regular menu prices are very reasonable. The pizza is a 10/10, we opted for the nachos this last time and they were also a winner 8/10, I had a Moscow Mule 10/10 and my friend had a tequila sunrise 10/10. They do have a happy hour in addition to their daily specials. Head in and check them out.

Walked here while waiting for car maintenance to be completed across the street. Upon entry, I was the « only one » and yet the bar was pretty busy but the bartender (never caught her name, but she wore glasses) she greeted me and offered me seating. Being greeted while in a bit of a rush is always a great start to the service that can typically be followed. I ordered the fish sandwich (not walleye) the other. Forgot the menu item. However the fish sandwich came out fresh and hot! The ambiance is your typical small bar atmosphere but the service from the bartender was AMAZING! She was NOT my server, my server service was good too but the bartender set the tone. I will definitely return to have another fish sandwich.

I been a loyal customer for over 10+ years. Skinners always has delicious food and friendly service. Me and my husband made the mistake of coming in on a hockey night,which is busy. There was only a table in the middle of a crowd to be seated so we passed. There was opening at a booth in the bar area. We asked if we could sit there,and told us its only going to be seated for 4+ customers so we ordered my personal pizza and waited outside. I came in after waiting for about 15 mins. Not only was my pizza topping wrong because I asked for the pepperoni on top. The seat in the bar was being occupied by just two people when we were refused service to be seated because there was only two of us. I confronted the waitress,and she said it’s first come first serve, and didn’t even let me speak before walking away rudely. This is the first time I have had a terrible experience after all these years. What a shame. Sad that you’re turning down loyal customers.

Great St. Paul neighborhood bar(probably the best)! The food is always really good and a great price! The specials are really great deals especially Monday where you get a 8 piece fried chicken and large pizza for $19 or Wednesdays steak special. The steaks are hand cut every Wednesday. The wings are some of the biggest and best in the city! Do not sleep on them!Too good to pass up! I love this bar!

My dad’s coworker recommended this place to us so we decided to give it a shot. The pizza was good but it’s not the best pizza I’ve ever eaten… The pizza was good enough though that we will be ordering more in the future. If you want to get some good pizza give this place a shot!
