We went to Planet Fitness to work out, and although we had already eaten breakfast, we noticed a large crowd outside the restaurant next to the gym. Curiosity got the better of us – what delicious food could be attracting so many people to wait in line…?
We checked the menu, and wow! A very extensive selection… The restaurant interior was also spacious and bright… We were seated quickly after only a few minutes of waiting.
The Yogurt Berry Banana Bowl I ordered was very fresh. The freshly baked scone was warm and delicious. I have a sensitive stomach, so the freshness and hygiene of the food are very important to me.
Although this was our first time dining here, we felt very comfortable and at home. My family was also very satisfied; not only was the food quality excellent, but the service was warm and friendly, We will definitely be back.

We are from Sarasota and were excited to try this restaurant because we were looking for a new place to have brunch with our family. Unfortunately, our experience with the server MAKENZI was Extremely poor and disappointed.
From the moment we were seated, her facial expression showed annoyance and a complete lack of friendliness. She made us feel rushed and did not take the time to properly take our order.
The food, however, was excellent absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the kitchen.
Throughout our entire visit, she only came to our table twice and both times it was because we had to call her over to order more food or request refills. We clearly saw her checking on the surrounding tables multiple times, yet she ignored ours. She never cleared our plates, never asked if we needed to-go boxes, and made no effort to ensure we were taken care of.
When it was time to receive the check, she didn’t ask whether it would be separate or together she simply assumed it was one check. When I politely asked for separate checks, she aggressively snatched the check from my hand. I calmly asked her not to snatch it and requested another server to assist us.
On a positive note, Deb (manager on duty) and Heather at the front were both very kind and professional.
With food this good, it’s truly a shame to have a server like MAKENZI representing the restaurant. Poor service like this will drive customers away.

Had a substantial breakfast – Banana & Chocolate Chip Crepe could have been dessert but satisfied that breakfast craving as well. The Scrambled Egger skillet over potatoes and gravy with a side of candied bacon was a more traditional but still delicious item. I have my lunch at least 5 days out of the week at the skillets in Venice. The food is always prepared to my satisfaction and they would even go the extra step to make changes or substitutions to make my lunch experience even better. Which is always greatly appreciated.
The service is always above and beyond. The majority of my lunch days at Venice Skillets I’m met by a smiling, attentive and very efficient server named Vanessa. And I do mean attentive. If she happens to see me walk in the door she’ll have my drink and placement already set at the counter waiting for me, and that’s something you don’t see often. But that’s not all, Vanessa is also quick on her feet. She gets my order in as soon as I’m seated with no wait, and my lunch gets put in front of me as soon as it comes up from the kitchen. During my lunch Vanessa always has time to stop by to see if I need anything and to make sure my lunch is satisfying and my reply is always with a smile and thumbs up because my face is usually full. “LOL”.
It’s always a pleasure going into Skillets knowing I’m going to be met with professionalism and courtesy. So for anyone that’s reading this review, if you desire the same experience as I have had many times ask for Vanessa, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
The restaurant has an appropriate atmosphere with a spotless dining room and every employee attentively working towards cleanliness, also very noticeable are the bus girls working diligently to keep things clean and running like a clock.
As you can tell I enjoy my meals at Skillets in Venice and will continue to enjoy great meals, service and excellent management for what I hope to be quite some time…….

I have been going to Skillets for over two years. The food is consistently fresh and well prepared. The wait staff and kitchen staff make you feel like family and you are always greeted with a smile. Today I tried a new menu item, The Breakfast Burger, and it was hot and juicy! The lettuce was cold and crisp, the tomato flavorful….all topped with an avocado and fried egg on a pretzel bun. Pure heaven! Also, the portions are hefty and you get good value for your money. Real corned beef hash, too! Stop in, you will not be disappointed!

If you’re looking for a spot to eat outside, the patio is perfect! It is completely shaded and plenty of seating.
The food is all made from scratch and absolutely delicious. I am usually a French toast breakfast person but I am so happy I strayed and tried the breakfast skillet. The potatoes they use for the bottom of the skillet are mixed with cream cheese and other things that make it perfect! I also had a gluten free pancake and couldn’t even tell that it was GF!
Prices are also reasonable! The menu is also huge and you will be able to please everyone! My husband loved it all too! He said perfectly made and it was flawless 10/10.

4.5 stars, rounded up. First time eating here. Seated promptly and provided a menu. A good array of options available for a reasonable price. I opted for a skillet because it seems (with their name) that’s what their speciality is! The re were options for the side, but I opted for the in house scone (which was great)! My husband got the potato pancakes, which he also enjoyed.
Service was great throughout. The atmosphere was lovely – we sat outside as the day was beautiful! Lots of seats with space between tables. Would visit again.
