Stopped in Skiles Tavern while in Holland, MI for work after hearing it recommended by several locals. Ended up being such a great choice! Even on a Tuesday night the place had that welcoming, family-night vibe. The menu is simple but done right—highly recommend the pizza with a drink. And the highlight? Amber and her partner made the night unforgettable with their hospitality. Truly a Local gem in Holland—definitely worth a visit!

Fun, very relaxed and simple restaurant. Small menu, a few apps, pizzas and drinks. Our waitress was helpful and we were thrilled that we could get half-and-half pizzas.

This is a longstanding tavern with beer and pizza in Holland. The beer sell for around $5.50 a bottle and the pizza is reasonably good and priced. The problem is it takes a LONG time for you to get the food. We went on a Friday night in the summer and it was busy but we sat at our table for close to an hour before our pizza arrived. The server was very nice. We went through 3 beers each while waiting for the food. Everyone was waiting a long time. I peeked into the kitchen and they had a bunch of college kids back there working. I’d say they need to up the capacity of the food production. Between the patrons and the take out orders, the math just didn’t work to get a reasonable dining experience.

We were her during tulip time. This was the only place not packed before and after our day in Holland. Nice bar layout and typical bar decor. Bartender was nice. After we did some tulip things we walked downtown looking for a place to eat and ended up back here. They got slammed and they only had 3 people working the floor, I believe. Everyone was doing their best under the circumstances. We had the deluxe taco and the specialty pizza and it was amazing.

Favorite pizza, ever! Great staff, very casual atmosphere. I actually crave the pizza. Thin crust, not saucy but great flavor and perfect combo of toppings. Perfect with cold beer.

I stopped by Skiles for the first time in a while recently and ordered a pizza to go. The pizza is excellent here, and it’s deliciously crispy. It’s not as oily as another long standing pizzeria down the road, and they take credit cards. It’s easy to see why Skiles has been around nearly 75 years now. I was able to enjoy a nice beer while I waited for my pizza too. I’d definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a Holland original.

Pizza was pretty good, however we decided to get the $8.75 appetizer of chips and cheese, thinking we were getting chips and queso. What got brought to our table was truly shocking… Almost NINE DOLLARS for the weekend at divorced dad’s house special is diabolical. Suffice to say, skip the appetizers if you come here unless you love the food you made when you were seven years old and the only kitchen appliance you were allowed to operate was the microwave.

Good local bar. A bit noisy Inside and limited beers on tap, but they always have something for everyone. Pizza is good and probable in the top 3 in Holland.

This place should get a -10 stars. First off the wait was extremely long and not busy at all. Waitress forgot to put my to go order in. When I it finally was done even though she didn’t charge me the pizza was wet and soggy. Not even able to pick a slice up without topping falling off. Called to let them know and I didn’t want anything just a simple apology and in hopes for better service the manager said it was not his business so basically dosent care. Will never go there again!

I can’t rate the food or atmosphere, but I did find the service to be disappointing. I love pizza but I try to eat healthy, so for many years I have only been eating it rountinely 3 times per year and it’s something I really look forward to . I eat it twice a year during summer vacations at Morro’s in Saukatuck, who to me has the best pizza in the area, but are closed during the winter season. The 3rd time is always at Jets on Holloween, as we always have family and friends over to celebrate this Holiday. This year for Holloween, we decided to try a new pizza and decided on Skiles. I called them on my work lunch break to place the order, to be picked up at 5 by family on their way to my house. I was told by the person who answered the phone, that I was calling too early and that I couldn’t call until 4:30 to place the order. I asked her if that was enought time to get the 3 pizza’s ready by 5 and she said that maybe I should call at 4:15. I thought it was strange that I couldn’t place the order, but I got out of work early, rushed home so I could place the order. For 30 minutes I called (close to 50 times), and the phone was either busy or someone answered it and hung up on me multile times. At 4:45 I gave up but was now in a panic trying to figure out what to do when guests were going to be at my house in 15 min. I ultimately called Jets and we were eating at 5:15. The whole experience was very stressful and disappointing for someone who is a planner and organized, I guess it’s best to stick with what works. Skiles could have gained a new customer, but they lost that opportunity as I will never order from or vist this establishment.
