We stopped by mid afternoon and enjoyed the French Dip sandwich and a club sandwich, both with fries, along with $2.75 draft beers. There was even malt vinegar on the table for the fries! Both sandwiches had plentiful, fresh ingredients. We are every bite.
Our server met us with menus promptly and we settled in to enjoy the classic rock songs at a volume where we could still talk to each other. The decor does have an actual skeleton and the place feels like it has weathered the storm. It certainly beats the chains with their cookie cutter atmosphere and food.
We got the nachos a Supreme pizza and the Italian sub.
Key crab soup
The pizza is one of the best pizza pies I have ever eaten. The crust was amazing.
The Italian sub was a fantastic rendition of that sub.
Fresh bread. Toppings were good.
Soups was creamy and delicious.
Crystal our waitress was great!
Two thumbs up. Keep up the great work. Ya keep that up your gonna need to expand!
Thank you for reminding me that good food still exists.
I absolutely love wings. Buffalo Wild Wings has just become absolutely nasty and neglected on many different levels. I will not go anymore. I find Myself at Skeleton Key. And these wings were absolutely beautiful. And yes, I know good wings. It was spotless clean from what I could see. I’m not sure about the kitchen because I wasn’t in it. Hopefully, it’s spotless as well. I will return and purchase these wings because they were just dynamite. My wife’s Sandwich was a nice-sized portion. The fries were plentiful. But hopefully, they can firm those up a bit more. They were a little flimsy. It’s important to have nice, sturdy, light crunchy French fries if you’re gonna serve them.
So, if you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by. Prices were maybe 2 dollars, 2 and a 1/2 dollars high. But it evened itself out with portion size and deliciousness. The blue cheese dressing was made in-house. It was good, but they could turn up the creaminess a bit. But still good. The Au jus dipping sauce for my wife’s sandwich. Definitely needed more salt, a little onion,, and some rosemary. And it would have enhanced its overall flavor.
It has to have more flavor. Or else it’s just flat beef broth.
A typical bar atmosphere, nothing fancy.
