It all began on January 27, 1958. With $50 in the cash register, Del and Helen Johnson opened “Sizzler Family Steak House” in in Culver City, California. This was the place where everyone could enjoy a great steak dinner at an affordable price. Today, we strive to serve the best hand-cut steaks at the most affordable price for the whole family with the addition of a broad, all-American menu and an abundance of fresh and healthy options. Sizzler is the restaurant where America comes to satisfy its appetite with U.S.D.A. Choice steaks cut fresh daily and cooked over an open flame, fresh seafood, and premium craft soup and salads prepared fresh daily.

My steak was a perfect medium well cook, and my all you can eat shrimp and fries were fresh and crisp to perfection! ❤️ Add an all you can eat salad bar for a great price to top off your meal, and it will be aparty in your mouth!

This place most definitely needs a health inspection. I ate there last Sunday, and afterward, the food hit me like a gut bomb; it blew up my colon. There were fruit flies flying around the salad bar, the garlic cheese bread wasn’t cooked all the way, and the butter fell off my steak onto my plate in a big blob of goo. The waitress asked me if my steak was undercooked, and I heard her asking several other customers if theirs were undercooked as well. I guess the chef wasn’t doing a very good job. My food also had a smell to it, almost stale, like an old person’s house. I don’t think I’ll be going back there again!
One last thing—and I’m not sure if I should say it because it might sound discriminatory—but as I was on my way out the door, I saw a worker sneeze into the salad bar while replacing food items. I was already so disgusted and ready to leave that I just didn’t care anymore!

My family and I come here a couple of times a year, here is our experience from our most recent visit to Sizzler’s Albany location. We were greeted by Amber as we came in as we finished looking over the menu she took our order, be sure to ask for the military discount if you’re a veteran.
Our server took our ticket as we we’re getting our self-serve salads, the food at the salad bar appeared fresh. Our main course was brought to us in a decent amount of time. The mashed potatoes didn’t taste fresh and the vegetables weren’t thoroughly cooked. Our server didn’t regularly check our us to see how the food was tasting or ask about refills.

Expected a restaurant experience, and did get that once seated. Food and service were excellent. Our party of 4 thought it was strange that we had to pick what we wanted off a wall mounted menu like a cafeteria. This made it more difficult to ask about possible allergens as one in our party has many. We also had to decide how much to tip when we paid ahead of being seated before even seeing how the service went. Overall, would come back again.

The food is crappy for the price and the lady at the front where you pay is rude. I had never been there before and from out of town and she didn’t even explain how it works. I thought it was a regular sit down place. They then hand me my tip that I paid on my card in cash like I was supposed to know what to do with it. The bathroom is dirty, the front workers just talk amongst themselves rather than help people and rude when you interrupt their conversation. My server, I think her name was Sage was great and wonderful.

Salad bar was well stocked, fresh and had a good variety. Our waitress was sweet, quick to bring toast out and friendly. Felt a bit sticky like they need a deep-clean but the food area was clean and well maintained.

Been many years since last time at a Sizzler. Some good aspects but disappointed.
Wilted lettus.
Cheese bread very good but greasy.
Chicken wings very good, the most popular item on the salad bar.
Have real bacon bits.
Salad items in photo were what was expected for taste, good, Fake crab salad was good.
Soups were chicken noodle and clam chowder. My favorite thing is to add real bacon crumbles to clam chowder.
Cantalope is sweet. Missed on the honeydew. Black coffee is good. Sugar options are standard white, pink and yellow.
French fries have the same seasoning as the chicken wings and are crispy when hot.
Gone is the self serve ice cream and now have ice cream cups and a few topping options. Establishment is really clean. Service was excellent.
Lots of people in the restaurant.
For an entree and side salad bar, sadly not worth it dispite key items tasting good.

Went there with a bunch of seniors. Their senior ayce salad bar was great, came with a drink for $14.50 for lunch. It even had chicken wings and a taco bar.
I only wish one could get a side salad or a single pass salad cheaper than the salad bar add-on with an entree.

Kids burgers burnt, daughter in laws chicken was like rubber, steak was okay lobster was cold and a bit too done, so much out of stock. Just wasn’t as good as usual not sure why

Looking at this sizzler menu just takes me back to the good ole days. Nevertheless… As much as I’m a fan of old fashion clam chowder and I like copying it at home. Because I really like the way how sizzler prepare their chowder, I won’t even touch it. As of today, Sizzler in Albany holds the best tasting Clam Chowder in reach of Greater Portland. Even their all you can eat salad bar that comes with endless chicken wings, soups, spaghetti, taco, salad and desert are one of the greatest food value today. They are way far than other Sizzler that I ever went to. Even the fish and chips that I went today in Newport, Cannon, etc… Its like enjoying your meal American in the 80’s. Customer Service is 1st!
