Very pleased with the restaurant new ownership, chef and servers. I feel like this place was lacking some polish and wow factor in the dining experience early on and recent years. Now it’s pretty top notch with fantastic menu specialties for cuisine, cocktails, and deserts. Also a kid friendly menu, and Sunday brunch!
The interior decor and ambiance has been updated , along with a plush side lounging area, where friends and or families can relax prior or after eating etc. Great place again!

The highlight of this restaurant is the people. The maître d’, Jeremy, is just a lovely and lively guy, who treated everyone personally, as if we were old friends. He was quick to make sure everything went smoothly, and everyone had what they needed. Our server, Taylor, was amazing, even though it was admittedly only his second day on the job. Absolutely fantastic!
As for the food, it was just incredible! We had a few drinks, including Amaretto Sours, an Italian Martini, and a Strawberry drink that I can’t remember the name of. They were all fantastic! We ordered an appetizer called the Pretzel Charcuterie, which included a Bavarian pretzel the size of the platter it came on, with Wisconsin Cheese Curds, grapes, and bacon wrapped goat cheese filled dates. There were two amazing sauces included, one was a cheese dip, and the other was a honey fused mustard sauce that was amazing. And I’m not a fan of mustard as a rule!
Our entrees were the Steak & frites, with a garlic airline sauce that was to die for! The steak was slightly overcooked for my liking, but incredibly tasty. My husband ordered the Porterhouse steak, which was absolutely scrumptious, and included an amazing Mac & cheese.
We stayed for quite awhile longer than we normally would to listen to the live music by Hit List. They were talented, easy to listen to, and had a fun and funny show. We left when we felt like we could barely move for all the food we had ingested. The ambiance is lovely, and again, the staff is a highlight at this Tavern.

This unassuming hotel restaurant is a very pleasant surprise. The menu is interesting and the food was great! Definitely get the soup trio with grilled cheese – it’s unique and fun! Wednesdays they have karaoke in the adjacent tavern so keep that in mind if you are expecting a quiet night. Be sure to check out all the cool old photos in the hotel for some local history.

First time here. Wonderful food, best service from Lizzie the head Bartender that helped my wife pick a wine with great expertise. Good wine selection. Great find and this is our favorite restaurant after 3 years living nearby! Highly recommend.

FANTASTIC hidden gem in Aurora! We enjoyed a great Friday evening by the fire. The Cosmo Piccione and Chandelier Revival cocktails were better than drinks I’ve had in Cleveland. The food was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the Salmon and Shrimp burger with dill tartar sauce on a cornbread bun. The sweet potato fries with siracha aioli and umami sauce were addicting. If you want elevated and delicious food and REAL craft cocktails in a beautiful setting, I highly recommend Six Horses Tavern. Perfect spot for a chilly night in. Well done

We are gradually making our way through there menu each Friday for Happy Hour. So far, the carne pizza is our favorite pizza and the Angus steak tacos were pur favorite taco. We also enjoyed the fries. Both the truffle nd the regular. We recommend thebregular because the truffle was very weak for the increased price. The drinks are always good and the bartender works diligently to make sure each person is well taken care of on her watch. We enjoy sitting next to the fire at a table for two. Lots of choices for the full eater. Not a good location for vegan or vegetarian. But it does not aim to be such a place. We recommend for groups of two or three but nothing more generally.

New owners have really elevated this cozy bar and restaurant. Cocktails were spot on, love the new glassware, everything we ate was delicious, lobster mashed potatoes had large chucks of lobster. The space is updated and has a great vibe. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Sort of want to keep it a secret but was so Impressed I had to share!

Was actually trying to go to the cutting board, but it was closed and seating in the Six Horses Tavern instead. The menu is your typical ‘New American’ fare. Steaks, tacos, burger – all done up a bit. I ended up getting the blackened fish tacos which were alright, but would have benefitted from some citrus. Service was quick, though we were the only people in there. I’d say this is more of a nighttime dinner spot. Overall decent.

Tremendous experience at Six Horses Tavern. We had 20-30 people dropping in and out after my wedding. Franz (owner) and his staff were very accommodating and made sure we had a great experience. The food is excellent and so are the drinks. Plus they have a very nice bourbon selection! Highly recommend. And thanks to Franz for being awesome!
