Delightful SE Asian cuisine in East Austin. Having lived in Singapore for more than 20 years it is always nice to find authentic dishes such as Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Char Kway Teow and many others. The decor is great, and the music is well curated. The service is good but a bit slow. Overall, highly recommended.

Overall, Siti was not a terrible meal by any means but has a lot of room to grow. I understand it’s on the newer side and might still be working out the kinks but I was underwhelmed overall.
We went to celebrate an anniversary and were greeted by a host who was welcoming and brought us a cute card. The service basically nosedived from there. I had to waive someone down for utensils and a napkin for our first course, and the server never acknowledged our anniversary. Not that I expect the red carpet to be rolled out, or to get anything for free, but generally saying “happy anniversary” to someone seems customary. We started with wine, and our server barely checked on us and took the drink menu so we ended up not trying any of their cocktails. He seemed annoyed with our presence and not knowledgeable of the menu when we asked for his recommendations. The Kampachi crudo was great, the broth was delicious but the fruit seemed unnecessary and somewhat overpowered the delicious fish. The roti canai was heart, cozy, and delicious as well. We also ordered the fish which was spicy but not overbearing, and tasted very fresh with a nice crispy skin. Unfortunately, the beef cheeks were a total miss for us. The sauce was dominated by olives and was so briny we couldn’t enjoy the beef which is a shame because it was very tender. Also, the rice portions are small for a menu that we were told is best shared family style. We skipped dessert and went onto another location. Overall, I think with better staff training, hospitality and some menu tweaks this place could thrive as the space is visually beautiful. Despite the ambiance, it’s not the place for a memorable/special occasion dinner. Maybe a casual lunch is a better experience here.

Visiting The Frances Modern Inn’s new restaurant by Chef Laila Bazahm for modern Southeast Asian food. I particularly enjoyed the beef cheek rendang and striped bass. I could’ve eaten two portions of the striped bass. The beef cheeks were so tender and hearty. We were actually too full for dessert, but I was interested in their unique take on tiramisu. Before we left, I took a quick snap of our AAPI Heroes Mural Campaign piece of Yuri Kochiyama and Malcolm X by Thao French and Chris Rogers. It’s still in beautiful condition, and the Inn owner still wants to get arielist dancers to perform on the mural for any special civil rights occasion. Love this town.

I’ve been to Siti a few times now and it just keeps getting better. They’ve only been open for about 4 months, but you can tell how much thought and care goes into everything—from the service to the updated menu. I brought a friend this time to show them one of my new favorite spots in Austin, and it didn’t disappoint.

We started with the Hiramasa, which was super fresh and such a fun, refreshing take on a crudo. The Pomelo & Citrus Salad had the perfect balance—bright, a little kick, and the pomelo kept it light. And of course, I had to get the Wok-Fried Rice Noodles with Duck again because it’s just that good. You can taste the Filipino influence in every dish in a way that feels creative but comforting.

The team was really attentive and warm without being overbearing. Overall, Siti just nails that blend of elevated and approachable dining that makes you want to come back again and again.

I was on my way to another (unamed) restaurant but I found it to be cramped and too loud for my taste.

I moved on and found this pearl I never heard of before: Siti.

Atmosphere: beautifully decorated, even the bathroom (I always check restaurant’s bathroom for cleanliness). See pictures.

Food: my first exposure to Southeast Asian cuisine was positive. I ordered the Roti Canai with Lamb Curry. It was wonderful. The lamb was well cooked in a brown sauce with a nice spixy after kick. My Copi-C coffee was strong and slightly sweetened with condensed milk. That was my dessert.

Service: slightly amateurish but well-meaning and friendly.

Price point: on the high side but it seems that all restaurants in Austin are expensive these days. $5.00 for a bottle of sparkling water is outrageous. Total bill too high for what I got.

I will come back and try other dishes.

This review is for the brunch menu. Server said the chef is Filipino and this is Filipino inspired. But I don’t see much Filipino dishes on the menu.

They didnt have the Kopi?! This is brunch is called Kopi-Tiam but why no kopi!

I had Longanisa. It’s too salty for me. There’s not enough garlic rice.

Kaya toast is not really a toast but soft bread. It came with soft boiled egg mixed with soy sauce.

The ambiance and service is really good. Maybe food better on dinner.

Beautiful interior and fantastic service. Food was alright. We did the chefs tasting menu which is meat/seafood and wine pairing. Note that the wine tasting is only 4 wines but the food tasting is 5 items with the last wine being a dessert sweet wine. The tasting menu is a good option if you want to try a lot of the menu. Portions are pretty big. I think it is only offered 5-6. Best thing I ate were the oysters. So delish and even ordered more after the tasting. Worth checking out to see if it’s your flavor profile. It’s awesome to have the Austin food scene expanding. I think for me, it was a miss for the food.

Had a 5:15pm reservation and unfortunately had one of the most frustrating dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived, but it took 30 minutes to get drinks and more than 70 minutes to receive our first dish. The chili crab and lobster never came out at all, even after an hour and a half and several “it’s on the way” updates from our server.

No manager ever came by, and we had to flag down our server multiple times just to get basic info. Meanwhile, as the restaurant got busier, everyone around us seemed to be getting their food without delays. We ended up leaving without the dish we were most excited to try.

The dishes we did receive were delicious, which makes the lack of communication and follow-through even more disappointing.

Update: The manager reached out after our first visit and review and invited us back, and I’m really glad we gave Siti another try. Our second experience was excellent — service was attentive and timely, the food was outstanding, and the pricing felt very fair. Huge improvement across the board. They truly made things right, and we’ll definitely be returning.

What can I say? Amazing! From start to finish. The staff was attentive and courteous and the food was so interesting and flavorful. We enjoyed dinner and liked it so much that we came back the next two days for their brunch. We can’t wait to visit Austin again so we can come back. We highly recommend you give Siti a try, you won’t regret it!

It’s an Asian Fusion restaurant and the flavors are amazing. We tried the lamb, pork belly and chicken wings and they were all so good.

We came in just few minutes after they opened but did not make a reservation but the restaurant was already getting full. We were seated at the bar but it was amazing seeing them live in action. Service is amazing. Everyone was just coming our checking on us and chatting with us.

Definitely will come back again for a special occasion as it’s a little pricey for regular visits but 100% recommend for special occasions.
