Came here on Christmas because they were the only place open. I wanna kiss the chef directly in the mouth it was so good. I had the Chili Paneer extreme spice level with a side of pickles. Legit best Indian food if not best meal I’ve had in tuscaloosa. I had to wait a bit longer because of register issues and wasn’t pleased. But after eating every bite this has to be one of my favorite restraunts in the city. Seriously get the chili paneer its life changing.

I loved the lunch buffet so that I could try things that I don’t usually try such as the tomato rice and mushroom and peas masala.
Service was polite and fast and we were seated immediately.
Fresh naan is a must of course and it was fresh and crispy out of the oven.
The surprise of the visit was the carrot pudding. Didn’t taste like expected and was surprisingly delicious and not to sweet

The food was good. Very filling and I would return to for a to go order rather than buffet only because I know I didn’t try everything. My only issue was the carrot dessert which I have had before other places. Here, I kept tasting cheese and my instincts said stop eating it. Then I looked up the reason and the difference in appearance.

Sitar of India is a standout destination for authentic Indian cuisine, offering rich flavors, generous portions, and warm hospitality. The restaurant’s atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, with soothing music and inviting aromas that greet you the moment you walk in. The menu features a wide range of traditional dishes, from creamy chicken tikka masala to flavorful lamb vindaloo and aromatic biryanis. Each dish is prepared with a perfect balance of spices that highlight the depth and diversity of Indian cooking without overwhelming the palate.

A great place to dine in for Indian food. They have full range of vegetarian and non vegetarian Indian cuisines. Ample sitting place with social distancing. The food is authentic Indian taste. The potion size is large and one dish serves 2 well. The rice are complementary with each dish. The staff is very knowledgeable and provides good details of Indian food.

Worst indian food ever on all united states!!! Prdered a goat biryani, they charge little higher price than other place, but was thinking taste will compensate on it but no. Who puts half a cup of oil in the biryani. The rice supposed to be soft and fluffy for biryani…. its raw…undercooked…….there was no salt on the dish…… I am literally so much disappointed by the restaurant. When i order 20 dollar worth of one meal, i would assume, the food quality to be perfect but this is actually opposite. Look at how much dip rice is in oil.

The food was good, with portions that fed me completely. The mango lassi, though, was huge and very tasty – very pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is the prices – expect to pay at least $20 per person.

Ordered Chicken Kadai and cheese Naan. Waiter asked if I wanted mild, medium or spicy. I went with medium which was delicious and just spicy enough to have some sniffles. Very nice to be able to suit your personal tolerance level. I have been happy with everything I’ve ordered. Everyone should try their lunch buffet!
