I really enjoyed my experience at Sitar Indian Cuisine. We came in at lunch time. I was happy to see the lunch buffet. The food was absolutely excellent. I was impressed with the variety of food on offer from Saag Paneer, to Goat Curry, to Tikka Chicken Marsala. I enjoyed it all topped of the meal with some Kheer. If you are in the area I definitely recommend.

The chicken tikka masala is my favorite, but this time I made it for lunch and they had a large fully stocked buffet. A great way to try new things.

Avoid this SITAR at Nashville..Firstly their food quality is below average paneer Manchurian and non-veg platter (pics included) and secondly, they scam you in take outs. They mentioned their specific dishes are good for two people, it’s barely enough for one.
PLEASE GO TO ANY OTHER NEARBY INDIAN RESTAURANT BUT AVOID THIS!!

We popped in right before close of business between lunch and dinner service for a late lunch takeout. We had the chicken tika masalla and lamb korma. As well we got the garlic naan. The food is delicious and hot. And the wait was very short. Seems like a nice place to dine in as well. Especially if you hit their lunch buffet. Grade A Indian cuisine.

I was happy to see the lunch buffet back up and going again after 5 years do to Covid. In the past, the lunch buffet was delicious with plenty of food selections. Not the case anymore. I arrived at the restaurant around 1:00pm. The food on the buffet looked like it has all been sitting there since 11:00 at the start of the buffet. There was 4 pieces of dried out Tandoori Chicken, dried out rice. The food was mediocre, very disappointing. The atmosphere was weird as I sat and had lunch. The waiter came over twice while I was still chewing and asked was I finished with my plate. There was 2 older women having lunch as well in a room full of people dining, one had conversation so loud that you could barely engage in a table conversation with the people you were dining with. The last thing I saw made me make the decision that I won’t ever be back. One of the workers made a to go/pick up order for a customer from the stale food that was picked over on the buffet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sitar Indian Cuisine – Downtown Nashville

My family and I had an amazing experience at Sitar. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian as our appetizer and it was absolutely out of this world — perfectly crisp, bursting with flavor, and super authentic. Hands-down one of the best versions we’ve ever had.

What made the meal even more special was bringing our daughter to a place my wife and I used to visit back in our early dating days. It felt like a full-circle family moment. The staff were incredibly warm and so sweet with our 4-year-old, even bringing her a little mango ice cream as a treat for trying so many new things. That small gesture meant a lot.

The food, the atmosphere, and the kindness of the team reminded us why we love it there. Highly recommend Sitar to anyone looking for amazing Indian cuisine and a truly welcoming experience.

I first ate at this establishment 16 years ago while working as a production assistant at a local studio. The food was really good. Today, I was working across the street and decided to try them again. OMG! the food is just as amazing as it was 16 years ago, if not better! 100% authentic Indian cuisine! I’ve never dined in, but when I went to pick up my order I noticed there was a buffet option as well. If you like Indian food, please please give Sitar a try.

Number one place for Indian food. Pictures speak for themselves. Dined in and service was excellent. Speedy service with a smile. Most of the dishes are shareable so have someone get one meal and the other order another meal. Looked like there carry out was pretty busy with people coming in and out at a very fast rate. They do have plenty of complimentary parking in the rear of the restaurant. If you get a chance look into Groupon, it can actually save you some money.

Can we give 10 stars?! Sitar has the nicest staff, the best food. Our 4 year old daughter came with us for the first time and the staff was so fun and kind to her. She asked the manager if she could give him a hug and promised him we would return next week. (We will!)

While my companions enjoyed their meals at this Indian restaurant in Nashville, I personally found that the overall dining experience fell short compared to other Indian establishments in the area. As I wanted to compare the flavors and quality of the food, I ordered the Lamb Korma. Although it was enjoyable, I must admit that I have had better versions of this dish elsewhere.

The disappointment started with the appetizers typically served at Indian restaurants. One of the items tasted quite peculiar, and my companion didn’t even attempt to try it. Even I instantly regretted taking a bite, as it had a crunchy texture resembling onions, although I expected it to be mango. I couldn’t quite discern what it actually was.

On a positive note, the Garlic Chili Naan served alongside my dish was delicious, adding a flavorful kick to the meal. However, I didn’t bother much with the rice, as there was only one rice dish presented to us. My companion, on the other hand, expressed a desire for more rice options.

While my Lamb Korma was enjoyable, the overall experience and the disappointing appetizer left me with the feeling that there are other Indian restaurants in Nashville that offer better service and a more satisfying dining experience.
