Each of us got a curry – Saag, tikka masala, and vindaloo. They were all great and the spice levels we requested (one mild and 2 spicy) were all very appropriate and delicious. Their naan was also delicious. Perfect mix of crispy edge and soft inside. I can’t wait to go back again for lunch!
I had chai, bhel puri, and paneer tikka masala. I enjoyed every bit of it (flavors were on point, the paneer was cooked perfectly) and I felt right at home. I have tried other South Asian places in the area so far that were not as authentic so I’m very pleased to have found this one. Looking forward to going back!
The staff was incredibly attentive, but that may have been because I was the only person inside at the time. There were countless pick up orders being handed out during my hour long stay, but I was the only person dining in. I got there around 6:30 and they patiently waited almost 30mins for me to order. After ordering, I waited less than 30mins for my food and even less for my appetizer, so I am very pleased with the service overall!
The food was good, but not impressive. The flavors were what you would expect from any Indian restaurant, but were truly nothing special. I ordered the vegetable samosas, pickles and chutney, and fish jalfrezi. The pickles were INCREDIBLY salty, to the point where I would have spit out my portion if the napkins weren’t linen. I tried mixing a smaller amount into the basmati rice and it was still too much salt. After mixing the pickles, chutney, and rice together and realizing there was just no getting away from the salt, I gave up and set the pickles aside. Otherwise, the food is good enough that if you’re craving Indian food, Sitar would be a fine place to stop at. If you’re hoping for a spectacular experience, however, maybe keep looking.
***For those who enjoy wine that isn’t too dry, unfortunately they cannot cater to you-none of their wine options are sweet.
