Sisters Thai The Ordinary Café (at MOSAIC) – Food delivery – Fairfax …
Reviews
I think Thai is my favorite Asian cuisine due to the complex flavor profile.
When I walked in, I was asked if I was there for pickup. I said I was dining in, and they seated me promptly. The server came by quickly, and I ordered the chicken satay and crab fried rice.
The food was disappointing. The chicken was dry and tough—only the peanut sauce made it edible. The crab fried rice came out soon after and was very average. Nothing worth coming back for.
What really stood out, though, was the complete lack of service. The restaurant was empty, and no one came by to check on me the entire time. I sat there for a while after finishing my meal before the server finally noticed. I asked for a to-go box—she brought the container and check, but no bag.
I usually order dessert wherever I go, but based on the food and the inattentive service, I decided to just pay, leave a tip, and head out. I had hoped for a better experience, especially being the only customer there. Maybe there are better items on the menu, but I don’t plan on coming back to find out.
Let’s start with the weekday lunch special, which is nothing short of a small miracle. It’s generous, beautifully prepared, and delivers the kind of flavor that makes you momentarily forget you’re on a lunch break and not on vacation. The value is outstanding, the portions are deeply satisfying, and the food is consistently excellent—fast enough for a workday, yet good enough to linger over if you’re lucky enough to have the time.
The decor and overall vibe elevate the experience even further. The space is stylish, inviting, and thoughtfully designed—modern without being cold, lively without being overwhelming. It feels intentional, like a place meant to be enjoyed, not rushed through. Whether you’re meeting friends, coworkers, or sneaking away for a solo lunch, it strikes exactly the right balance.
The location is fantastic and easy to get to, which makes it a natural go-to spot. The only caveat is the parking, which can be a bit of a scavenger hunt. That said, any minor inconvenience fades the moment you’re seated and the food arrives—it’s well worth the extra lap or two.
All told, Sister’s Thai delivers on flavor, atmosphere, and value in a way that makes it stand out. Five stars without hesitation, especially for anyone looking to turn a weekday lunch into the best part of their day.
I had an incredible experience at this Thai restaurant! Tan provided the best customer service—she was kind, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the fish, which was cooked to perfection. And the dessert? Simply unforgettable! The flavors were authentic, fresh, and full of delicious Thai spices.
If you’re looking for great food and top-notch service, this is the place to go. Highly recommended! Thank you, Tan, for making my visit so enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Tables for 2 are tiny. I ate my meal off a appetizer dish to conserve space. Request a 4 person table.
I got Crispy Duck. I am used to “crispy” duck. This was like wide sliced pork. Very tender, but no “crispy ” in sight. There might have been a little on the outer edge.
Wife had Chicken curry which was fine. That is always pretty much the same wherever you go which is why my wife always gets it.
