This place was solidly fine. I appreciated how it wasn’t too loud inside, even though it was rather busy. Service was just ok. Our server and every other staff member we interacted with were very friendly, but it took forever to have our orders taken, or even just to receive water. Once we’d finally ordered, it took long enough for our food to come out that another (very kind) staff member thought we’d finished our meal and came to ask if we needed anything else (the implication being he was ready to bring our check to us).
The food was very tasty though, and my cocktail was delicious. Everyone in my party really enjoyed their meals. Prices for drinks are standard/a little below average for Boston, but I thought some of the food prices were quite expensive for what you got. The two Ahi tacos I got didn’t really fill me, and I ended up walking away hungry (which is a big statement from me, since I tend to get full very quickly).
Weirdly one thing that really stuck out to me was the bathroom. It was clean, but so run down looking that it was very much at odds with the rest of the restaurant. Two out of three sinks were not working. I could not wrap my brain around how dreary this bathroom looked in a place that probably brings in a bunch of money.
I really wanted to truly like this place, and really did enjoy my food, but there was just a lot that was off about the experience. Will I go back? I mean, it’s very conveniently located right next to the opera house, so chances are high I’ll end up here again some time when I see another show there. But will I go back if I don’t have a musical to see and limited time to eat beforehand? Probably not, to be honest.

Sip has a great vibe and the food was delicious. We got the guac to share and I had the seared tuna loin which as flavorful and inventive. My counterpart had the pear salad with chicken and she loved that too. We had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert, which was too rich to finish, but was a sweet treat at the end of our meal. We also had dessert martinis-the espresso and pumpkin chai-which were both delicious. The service was great and I’d definitely recommend.

Ambiance indoors was pretty lacking, I recommend sitting outside or else not coming here. Wine glasses were dirty (can’t tell from the picture but both glasses were). Food was ok, but not worth a meal if you’re a visiting tourist and have limited meals.

This place is in a great location with both indoor and outdoor seating. I was by myself so I sat at the bar. Service was decent, I got a glass of the Malbec and it was good and I got the Hanger steak as an entree. I found the portion to be a bit small for the price but it was good.

I came her with a friend prior to seeing a show at the Boston Opera House. It is conveniently located next to the Opera House. We sat outside which was superb! There is no parking for this place, unless you use a street or nearby parking garage.
The salad was delicious. The salmon wasn’t overcooked. The food all looked and tasted fresh. Desserts was interesting. One was legit 4 marshmallows on sticks with dipping sauces, a fancy and expensive twist on something so simple. Why, can’t I ever think of these things?! Service was prompt and courteous. A bottle of wine, 2 entrees and 2 desserts came out to be about $135.

I went there two weeks for dinner while we had plans to go see a movie. Fernando was amazing!

The food was very good and at a reasonable price point. It was close to the Citizen’s Opera House. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. The service was impeccable I had the tuna and tempura shrimp bowl with avocado. My companion had the seared tuna loin. They also had creative cocktails.

While the food and service were good, the attention to detail regarding food allergies was severely lacking. I ordered the cheese and charcuterie board, which is noted on the menu as having a gluten free modification. I specifically stated I needed it gluten free. It was served with bread, and since I had noted to the server I needed a gluten free modification assumed the bread was. As soon as I tasted it, I knew it was too good to be true and asked if it was gluten free. When someone returned to inform us it was not gluten free, we were told that “it was okay, though.” No. It was not. The utter disregard for a dietary restriction/allergy was disgusting. Yes, I’d brought my own crackers so I was able to eat the meal still, but it’s very likely I’ll have some sort of reaction because of the carelessness of the staff to hand out bread which was not gluten free with a meal that we believed to be gluten free. At least the mocktail I had was delicious. But regardless, I’ll actively avoid Sip if I ever return to Boston.

We came here before going to a show at the Boston Opera House bc it’s right next door. Highly recommend making reservations beforehand bc we found out at the end of our dinner that the entire restaurant emptied out before the show bc everyone was going there!
Service was speedy and the food was delicious. I would recommend getting the exquisite clutter as the drink. I thought it would be sweet bc of the pineapple but it wasn’t at all! Quite bitter actually and the perfect combination of prosecco, gin and mint! Ate the miso salmon and thought the mashed potatoes underneath it would make it heavy but wasn’t at all!
Wonderful atmosphere and recommend eating here before any of the shows at the Citizens Opera House.

Really enjoyed a quick dinner here. We didn’t have reservations, so were seated at a long high-top “communal table,” where other smaller parties were dining. We didn’t mind at all and still had plenty of room. I ordered the rice bowl that had tempura shrimp and ahi tuna (I opted for double shrimp and no tuna). It was absolutely delicious! I’d get it again in a heart beat. Good service and classy but casual atmosphere.
