Stopped here last night while passing through on cross country trip. Had good reviews, close to freeway, and open till 9pm. Got the ribs for 2 and small potato salad for $23 before tip- I felt this was very reasonably priced for a nice meal for 2 moderate eaters (we didnt finish it). The ribs were amazing and thick and meaty and plentiful!! Great bark, deep flavors, every chew kind of brought out different flavors/textures, great sauce- nice balance of smoky/a little tangy/not too sweet. Hopefully we will go back home this way and get some more! And buy a bottle of their sauce! Friendly staff! I’m not a potato salad connoisseur, that was for spouse, but reminded me of my grandmas- potatoes nice and soft, some sweet relish, and creamy:) yum, definitely reccomend! Not very fancy, definitely a neighborhood favorite feel:) thank yall for the great meal! Photo is ribs for 2, minus 3 well sized ribs.

The employees at Sims Bar-B-Que Little Rock on Broadway. Are very nice people and the food is great you get a lot of food with your meal. I eat off of it for three days. I even have my family, friends & Church friends eating from them as well. I urge you all to go and eat there. The food is excellent. You will go back if you go once you’ll go twice the price is right as well. I go there twice weekly my Sister is at stage four cancer & this’s one place she will still eat from. Even when she doesn’t have an appetite, she always has one for SIM’s barbecue place Amen.. Let them know I Ms. Tee send you there..

Amazing BBQ meals! Very friendly and professional restaurant workers. If you ordered dine in you have to wait for your order to be called and go pick it up. The drink also isn’t available until you pick up your order. I’ll definitely be back or rather might just order out next time.

Sims is a venerable Black-owned barbecue establishment that was my family’s go-to place when we wanted barbecue as I was growing up. My mother’s brother worked at 3M on the southeast side of Little Rock where Sims’ original outlet was, some blocks south and east of its current location. On his way home from work, he’d stop at Sims and pick up ribs and all the trimmings, and we’d have a feast at the table in my grandmother’s breakfast room when he spread the table with his offerings.
We thought, and said, that no one can make barbecue like Black-owned barbecue restaurants. Their barbecue traditionally featured pork ribs and other cuts of pork smoked long and lovingly in an enclosed container over coals, with the meat basted periodically during the cooking process. The results are unctuous. And light years better than the Texas-style beef barbecue that is increasingly pushed on us Arkansans by local food writers who, as it happens, have Texas and not Arkansas roots.
Our experience at Sims was, unfortunately, a bit off today. They’ve instituted a new no-table service regimen. You can still eat at tables inside, but you have to place your order at a station in the restaurant, and the people handling that side of things are nowhere near as friendly and nice as the wait staff at Sims — especially our wonderful longtime wait person whom we sorely missed today.
This is a disappointment, since that interaction with the friendly, solicitous wait staff was a key component of the Sims experience in the past. And it’s just not the same now.

Got a text from the parents that said, “can you bring ribs?” Of course, I can. Sim’s is the go to. Got the slab special with ribs, potato salad, and beans. The beans were tremendous, and maybe better than normal. The potato salad was great, like always. And the ribs were “fall off the bone” tender. Service was quick, which is impressive give how many orders they were doing. The price is good for the quality, and the quality was quite high! Highly recommend.

This place is “hit and miss” more misses than hits though! Last rib meal I got you can tell that meat had been setting there all day. It didn’t have the smoke flavor, small pieces with very little meat and it was tough as hell!

Its hard to review one of the oldest businesses in town, since it obviously has decades of positive reviews about the great BBQ and sides. It seems like most people here do take out, we dined in on a weeknight and were the only ones eating in the restaurant. Food is delicious.

It was a welcoming kind of atmosphere. The counter staff were kind and courteous. Service was great and my rib tips were excellent ‼️ The price is normal 14 bucks and I ate twice from the one order.
