It pains me to say that my first visit to Simply Soule food and catering was unfortunately disappointing. I would love to give them a higher rating because I think they have the potential to do better. Unfortunately, they’re battling one of these factors that people who serve already cooked food deal with every day. What to do with inventory if it’s not consume that day. Apparently the people at Simply Soule food and catering reheat it the next day. Understandably since they’re trying to grow their business and money I’m sure it’s tight. But unfortunately, the green beans were tasty, but mushy. The cabbage was tasty but mushy. The cornbread was tasty, but almost cold. And the baked chicken was obviously not fresh. So the potential ilies in the fact that they know how to cook and they know how to season. But the reality is right now with the amount of turnover and food, what they serve is somewhat disappointing. I’ll come back in a couple of months to see if they’ve gotten a rhythm between customers and Inventory.

Was trying to find some comfort food and came across this place right across from my hotel. I got the chicken fried chicken, greens, tomatoes and okra and fried green tomatoes. It also came with mashed potatoes and mini cornbread muffins. The food took a little bit to cook – but if you know anything about southern cooking I would definitely recommend stopping in. Now to go take a nap

I googled food near me. I seen this small soul food restaurant. I love soul food and let me say that it was simply delicious! She gave us some very generous portions too. We had the smothered pork chop & chicken fried steak. Both were large, perfectly cooked and simply delicious. The sides, yams, Mac&cheese and collards were all fire! I’m a white brother from Chicago and I’m telling you this place has some delicious food. I got to try the catfish and oxtails before I leave.

Food was decent. I did fried fish, yams and greens. Fish was soggy but taste wise good, yams was fire greens were basic. So I would try them again but something different like oxtails and Mac and cheese. I wasn’t disappointed in the 20 dollar plate but also wasn’t blown away. Fake decent in the Atascocita area for real soul food tho.
