We just had dinner at Simply Sabor, and it was fantastic! The chorizo tacos were bursting with flavor, and the sabor fries were my daughters favorite. Marco really knows how to bring the flavor to every dish! My whole family left happy and satisfied. We’ll definitely be back!

My favorite spot for a quick bite on Castro! Service is fantastic, birria and carnitas tacos delicious and very filling! Best beer price in the bay area. $5 IPAs! I love that Simply Sabor is located in Ava’s. Always nice to run in friends and neighbors while grabbing a quick bite and a few groceries

Rides the line of value beautifully—tasty, fairly priced, well proportioned. The burrito was packed tightly, flavorful, and delicious. I love places like this because they don’t get enough credit, they notably appreciate your business, and it’s the perfect place to sneak in, enjoy a delicious burrito or tacos, and tell no one 😉

Great spot. I’ve lived near Castro Street for 5+ yrs and I feel like my prayers for delicious Mexican food have been answered.

1) Love and Care: If you are lucky you’ll meet Marco, the brains behind Simply Sabor. He cares deeply about his customers and serving delicious high quality food.
2) Portions: I’ve never left hungry. In fact I’ve taken leftovers home.
3) Deliciousness: Between my husband and I we’ve had 4 of the menu items. We actually have different preferences in food and Simply Sabor meets us both where we are at. Spicy and hot enough to make my husband’s tastebuds happy and the mild side of the house still giving me a kick w/o being too boring or too strong.
4) Vibe: Simply Sabor is located inside a neighborhood grocery store. It’s casual but also buttoned up. I feel well taken care of but not fussed over.
5) Details: I LOVE eating off their handmade dishes. Such an amazing touch to have these beautiful plates and mugs. I swear they add flavor to the already great food.
6) Café de Olla (I think): blushing here bec/I’m no expert in Mexican Cuisine- but I believe this amazing coffee drink at Simply Sabor is called Café de Olla. It’s got great flavor, spice and sweetness. The perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I adore the mugs they serve it in, too.

The food is unbelievable. I had one of the best burritos I’ve ever eaten—bursting with flavors and made with so much care. The hot sauce was next-level with amazing favors, perfectly spiced.

From the moment we walked in, Marco made us feel genuinely welcome. Warm, friendly, and incredibly personable, he took the time to chat with us, share his passion for the food.

This restaurant, tucked in a food market, is a hidden gem that I can’t wait to revisit. Simply Sabor has officially earned a place on my all-time favorites list!

It’s in a grocery shop which isn’t ideal but don’t be fooled by the atmosphere, these are genuinely fantastic tacos. Juicy flavorful meat on fresh corn tortillas. Was honestly craving more after killing mine. Well priced too. My only qualm was that the mild salsa was pretty weak, didn’t have any smokey or spicy tastes at all and just a strong tomato flavor. Maybe try the spicy salsa with yours. Didn’t matter though because the tacos were so good.

I really had high hopes this place would turn out better than what I experienced, especially given the high reviews but was pretty disappointed.

I ordered an al pastor super burrito and was happily surprised to find that they offer a choice of pinto or black beans and I don’t find many places that offer black beans, which is my go to for super burritos. The lady informed me that aside from meat, beans, rice, onions, and cilantro, the super burrito comes with sour cream, which is interesting since it normally comes with guacamole as well but you can add that on (I didn’t ask the price but assume it would be $3-4). I ended up waiting almost 15 mins for my burrito, which was a bit longer than I was expecting but it is what it is.

I ended up taking it home to eat so I didn’t get a chance to check it but needless to say, it was rather disappointing. It’s smaller than almost any other burrito around here and one of the more expensive ones. You can see from the photo that it’s mostly soggy rice, hardly any meat, no sour cream and I didn’t get black beans.

This was so disappointing that I’m not sure I’ll go back for a $16 burrito. They get an extra star for including chips.

Fantastic Mexican restaurant tucked away inside Ava’s market. The fresh squeezed juices were amazingly good (cantaloupe and lime were the options when we were there). I had a huge chimichanga served with a nice dollop of salsa and guac. The birria is phenomenal. Marco has a real passion for high quality meat. The plant based options were great too. We had the TofuRizo that tasted just like chorizo. Excited to go back!

The owner was the kindest. The carnitas taco was tender with a smoky salsa that was amazing! Def coming back for more. Great spot to grab and go or have a taco inside a market (casual setup but pretty cool).

Simply sabor is located within what appears like a supermarket. It’s off to one side. The menu is limited. I had quesadillas and spicy beer drink, Miranda? The food was okay, beer mix was not. It has a sticky substance on the straw and the straw didn’t work. There are better Mexican options in the area. Seemed a bit over priced for the beer.
