Reviews
We started with a salad, which unfortunately was wilted, with a dressing that wasn’t very good.
The cheese fondue was a highlight, but the bread provided was store-bought from H-E-B. I would highly recommend that Simply Dipped Fondue consider baking their own bread or sourcing from a local bakery.
We ordered the steak fondue, which was good. We felt that the recommended cooking time of 2-4 minutes was too long, so we opted for 1-2 minutes depending on the thickness of the cut based on our preference.
To end our meal, we shared a milk chocolate fondue, which was yummy. We requested only fruit instead of the fruit and dessert combo.
While Simply Dipped Fondue has potential, there are many excellent restaurants in Fredericksburg to choose from. As a fondue enthusiast, I wanted to love this place, but it fell short. With some improvements to their ingredients and food prep, I would have given a higher rating. They do know how to hire great servers!
I haven’t had fondue for over 20 years and I thought it would be a great date idea for my 18yo son and I to experience together. I was right! He enjoyed it very much!

So the cheese dip was my very favorite part of the meal. We choose the beer cheese with garlic… Yummm. Comes with bread, apples, grapes, and veggies to dip.
Photos will show the meat and seafood entrees. Fresh and great cuts of meat and fish!
We chose the turtle chocolate fondue… Oh my!! Strawberries, bananas, pound cake, brownies, rice krispies
Pros
-it’s fun and a unique way to enjoy your meal. Service was quick and attentive. Great date night experience.
This establishment has moved locations and is located in a strip mall. It’s small and not a lot of parking, but your can make your reservations right on their website. Vibe is cozy with a retro vibe. Each table has it’s own induction burner built into it which I thought was very cool!
Recommendations/suggestions
-Use fresh baked sourdough bread for dipping
-have an all fruit option for the dessert fondue
-offer gluten free options
I’m glad this place is here in Fredericksburg. It’s a unique dining experience and worth checking out! The prices are right. They offer adult beverages & mocktails. Go with a small group of friends or on a date and you’ll enjoy your experience!
We began this adventure with the Cali Salad for my husband, and I highly recommend the Hill Country Peach Salad..it was bursting with a variety of flavors.
We ordered the 4 cheese fondue, which by the way, they do all fondue at your table.
Then we chose 1 of 4 broths for our meat selection because we got the Fondue Experience, well worth it. We dropped our potatoes in the boiling broth because they take a little longer. The meat selections included beef chunks, chicken, pork and shrimp with a nice variety of dipping sauces on the side.
Give yourself at least 2 hours for this whole experience. Unique. How often do you go to a restaurant and use fondue forks to cook up your dinner? This was a first for us.
Then…we found out the Chocolate Fondue was included in the Fondue Experience. WOW. We got the chocolate Carmel fondue and it was heavenly. This place is a must when you visit here. The waitstaff are just wonderful. We were there on Valentines Day, which is the reason for all the decor you’ll see in my photos.
8 or so tables with people at them inside—not busy. Plenty of tables inside and outside were open. We ordered around 7pm.
No food or sign of the waiter till 7:17pm. She comes out with a spread of almost entirely bread even though the menu advertises “fresh fruits and vegetables” too. It was a couple broccoli, a few carrots, and a few apple slices. Talk about stingy with the fruits & veggies. The Four Cheese dip was mediocre at best. Not even remotely worth $26.
By 7:45pm (mind you, an hour we’ve been here now) we’d only had one course and were still hungry not to mention disappointed. We paid and left instead of spending more money here.
The food isn’t good enough to be charged Melting Pot level prices.
I won’t be double dipping at this establishment.
