I have a early lunch hour due to my shift. So at 10am most places are still serving breakfast. I’ve been 2 times at a little after 10 and they are still setting up for lunch. Both times they have graciously served me lunch. Alway friendly and the food is delicious . These women work hard and deserve a huge thank you.

EDIT:: I returned last week because the 1st time was so yummy and pleasant but this time the black guy making my food was very aggravated. Each time i spoke was clearly an issue to him. This makes me question eating here again if I see him serving the food. That’s not a friendly way to conduct your business!!
This is a “hole in the wall” kinda vibe here! First time ever eating here and I have to say it was good! Though a bit pricey it’s hard to find the mom and pop lunch these days! The caramelcake I got was to die for, it was so good!!! I would eat here again!

I brought my Daddy after seeing his doctor and we got lunch to go bc he was getting pretty tired. I’ve heard Mrs Mary speak of Poulet several times but we never caught it on the menu while she was still with us. Dad and I lucked up and it was on the menu and I told him it’s got the best reviews ever so we will get today, no regrets!!! Lord have Mercy I wish Mrs Mary and I had been able to eat it together before she passed, she has a taste for it and my goodness it was delicious! And those candied carrots were perfect! Daddy turned 90 on Sat, Sept 5 and he surely enjoyed his lunch out with me. Thank you, @Simply Delicious for a wonderful lunch and fond memories for me and Daddy and of a beloved sweet friend! I have tried lunch from here several times. I usually come in to get 2-3 lunch plates to go for the office. The food is typically good, but service is severely lacking. The guy serving is always rude and acts like it’s an inconvenience to make the plates. One time he was huffing and puffing so much the lady from the kitchen stepped in and made the plates. It had been a few months since I last tried and was hoping something changed. Unfortunately, he was just as rude as all my previous visits.

It’s ok but I felt the food was lacking something. Portions were reasonable. The meat loaf I had seemed a little bland. The fried okra was over done. I’d go back and give them another try. Desserts looked very good but we didn’t have any.

We were in the area and found this place doing a Google search for something other than a chain restaurant. I must say, next time we are in town, we will be back. The employees were so friendly and the food was yummy. If a meat and veggie place is what you are craving, you must try this place!
