Our story Starting in summer of 2002, Simpang Asia has gone through an inspiring journey. Rising from a humbling Indonesian specialty market to be one of the well recognized Indonesian Restaurant in Los Angeles. Culinary journeys that were inspired by Indonesian street food culture and the warmth of home cooked dishes have led Simpang Asia to be a restaurant that breathe comfort and sincerity in its existence. Great vegetarian options provided. The waiter was friendly and recommended really good dishes. The Char Kway Teow was excellent and spiced very well. The Mie Tek Tek was also a great vegetarian option, my family enjoyed it. We also had the chicken curry that was moderately spiced. The peanut sauce with the chicken satay was very well seasoned. Had a Good experience.

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and it was really good. I’m soo glad I ordered the Singapore street noodles 10/10 with great flavor. Next time I’m in Venice, I’ll definitely swing by again.

Simpang Venice was the perfect place to host my 40th birthday dinner, and the night could not have gone better. We had a group of 28 people and reserved a semi-private section of the restaurant. The team was incredibly accommodating with table formation, allowing us to start the evening standing and mingling with drinks before transitioning smoothly into a seated dinner. It made the whole event feel relaxed, social, and well organized.
We chose the tasting menu, which was ideal for a group this size and really emphasized sharing and togetherness. The food was outstanding across the board. The lumpia were a standout favorite, crispy and flavorful, and the Singapore Street Noodles were a crowd pleaser, reminding me of my childhood in Asia. We also loved the Sumatra Grilled Chicken, which fell off the bone, and the ’Tis My Rendang was incredibly tender, rich, and deeply satisfying. The Festival Feast felt generous, indulgent, and perfect for a celebration. Many of my friends are already planning to come back just for the food. For a semi-private event on the west side, the pricing was very reasonable given the excellent service, atmosphere, and quality of the meal. I would highly recommend Simpang Venice for milestone celebrations or group dinners.

Very delicious, wonderful flavors. It really stands out from other places I’ve tried similar dishes at. The chicken satay with peanut sauce was very filling and hearty. The ribs were my favorite, it must try. I will come back!

I wish they had more Indonesian dishes instead of sprinkling in Thai and other dishes. Having said that, the mango sticky rice was delicious and took me back to Thailand!

Simpang Venice is a decent spot with friendly service. The gentleman who assisted us was very kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. The food was okay—not quite what I was expecting in terms of flavor, but still enjoyable. If you’re in the area and curious to try something different, it might be worth a visit.

I came here with my sister yesterday for dinner and it was fantastic ! We enjoyed it so much we ordered more. The ambiance was nice and would be a great date spot ! The perfect amount of people to hold conversation. We ordered the chicken sate, papaya salad, sambal wontons, and steamed garlic veggies 🙂
