Best Indian restaurant experience we’ve ever had! Made to feel so welcome from the first point of contact to leaving the restaurant… all I can say is we’ll be back and will recommend highly to all of our friends and family! All dishes that came out looked amazing and portion sizes were adequate for sharing without being overbearing… so much taste and flavour! Keep doing what you’re doing guys!

Valentine’s Day Dinner. A very busy day for them, but we were made to feel very welcome, and not rushed at all. Service was excellent, food was great, and they created a nice atmosphere. All in all a great dining experience.

Without a doubt, this was the best customer service I’ve ever experienced.

I don’t think I’ve ever started a review by talking about customer service, but the interaction here was genuinely exceptional—warm, personal, and sincere. It was refreshing to be greeted with such a pleasant, wholehearted conversation.

The food was outstanding. We appreciated the staff’s input; they made excellent recommendations, encouraging us to share the rice and naan and to add an okra side dish—which, by the way, was absolutely delightful. Portion sizes were spot on.

The lamb was everything we hoped for—tender, moist, and rich. The drinks were great as well, topped off with a very generous serving of complimentary shots, some of which were for my birthday, on the house.

Overall, it was an amazing meal with outstanding service at a surprisingly affordable price. I’m excited to say we’ve found our new favourite restaurant in Newcastle, and we will absolutely be returning.

I have visited Simla a couple of times now and it has quickly become one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Newcastle.

The menu is extensive, offering a great selection of traditional Indian dishes, along with a very good wine list and a solid choice of beers. On my visits, I’ve tried the Goan fish curry and the grilled masala fish as mains — both were excellent. I particularly love the combination of curry flavours with fish and seafood; it’s rich, fragrant and beautifully balanced.

I usually pair my main with saffron pulao rice or garlic naan, which complement the dishes perfectly. The Poppadom Bowl with its homemade chutneys is also a must for me, I wouldn’t skip it.

The service is consistently good and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommended.

Lovely little find whilst on a family break for Feb half term! The staff were extremely welcoming and the food was amazing! By far one of the best curries we’ve had, our picky daughter ate everything so that says something! In her words 100 out of 100!

Me and my Fiancé went here on Saturday night as soon as it opened. We were not disappointed at all. My dish was recommended by Adil and was told that if I didn’t like it then I could have a refund. I can clearly see why he made that statement as it was genuinely the best dish I’ve ever had at an Indian restaurant. My partner also enjoyed her meal. She is Vegetarian so was pleased that there was a separate section of the menu that had a good variety.

Adil greeted us as soon as we walked in and addressed me by name. Very polite, attentive and professional service. The rest of the staff were great also showing that standards start from the top.

The bill came and I was surprised at how good the price was (obviously everything was priced but I didn’t really pay attention to them).

overall there’s not a single thing I could fault.

service was above and beyond.

food was simply devine and a perfect portion size

and the price was outstanding.

I can’t wait to visit again 15/10 ❤️

Came here just before Christmas; as a group of 14 people and came back again in mid January as a group of 6. Both times the food has been absolutely amazing, and both times the staff have been so welcoming. Simla restaurant serves beautiful authentic indian food. On our most recent visit, our server, Aadi was exceptionally attentive, using my name when offering recommendations made the experience feel really personal.

We came here solely for the sev puri. It’s difficult to find it on any menu, so I was really excited! It was soooo good I ordered a second one! I will be back!!!
We also had the chilli garlic chicken, chicken jalfrezi, Karahi paneer, and crispy bhindi dopiaza. All of it was phenomenal. The paneer was sooo smooth and everything was wonderfully spiced. The dopiaza was batter fried which surprised me, but still delicious!

Having not been in a number of years and someone that likes to try different restaurants, I’m kicking myself for leaving it so long as the meal & service was fantastic!! My family had a house in Goa for a decade and apart from the food in india this is the best Indians I have been to in the uk.
I have tried the likes of khai khai and imo it doesn’t come close although very good.
The food here is outstanding! Great friendly service & for the quality of ingredients a very fair price.
Nice cosy setting and a good atmosphere as its always full. I’ll be back in February.
Well done Simla
