This place was nice and the food was homemade. I didn’t give it 5 stars for a couple small reasons. Our waitress was very attentive but like to talk and shared a few too many personal statues while we were trying to eat. Also, you have to take your own bill up to the cash register. Like I said, the food was good and homemade but a few little shortcuts were taken… the garlic bread was just white hamburger buns that were buttered and toasted. The eggplant parmigiana was good but they just laid a few very thin slices of fried eggplant on top of the spaghetti which didn’t really make that yummy layer experience that eggplant parmigiana usually gives you. The fried mushrooms were homemade and delicious. But the portion was a little small for the price. The atmosphere was nice but was pretty basic. It is just a big room with tables and booths – nothing to break up the space or the noise. All in all, it was good, but would I go back – probably not- there are other options out there that add a little more pizzazz or things that make you want to come back time and time again. The crowd seemed to be mostly older people and I’m sure they like the no fuss home style atmosphere.

Folks have told us they love this place but our experience was different. Our time was colored by a lack of care. I had to track our server down in the kitchen to ask for napkins, after food had been delivered. Then she came to the table and asked if we needed napkins because had spilled something? The salad looked like it was slung on the plate. The “garlic bread” that came with my chicken Parm was a sub bun cut in half and baked. The spaghetti noodles had been sitting in water way too long. My wife got the Big Fat Greek Plate and her chicken was so overcooked it had feathered. We never did get our ticket so we just had to go to the counter to pay. The food seemed more institutional and coupled with a lack of service, we probably won’t be back. I pray their management will inspire some pride in their restaurant again.

The restaurant was so cute and everybody was so nice, but with the name honey tree I thought it would have more unique honey-centered foods. Nevertheless, the food was good. The only negative thing I could say about it is I had the creamy potato soup and it was waaaay more watery than creamy, with not very much flavor. But Eeeeverything else was delicious with very generous portions. Will definitely be back!

Waitress was friendly & efficient. I had the lasagna special for Friday at just $10.99. The sauce was good & there was plenty of beef. Crisp, fresh salad too. Will definitely return!

Today was the 1st time dining alone but Sylvia’s sweet teenage daughter waited on me. She was friendly and accommodating. I had lamb slices, warm pita and greek salad and chocolate pie. Delicious! I love the family atmosphere! I definitely will be back with or without someone

We have been loyal customers for the past 7-8 years. Food is great and service friendly. However, over the past few months the owners have completely discontinued putting napkins in their packs of flatware. This cost-cutting measure is distressing to my family that includes young children. Napkins are essential to keeping the table and the children clean. Please reconsider this issue. It puts additional workload on the already overworked wait staff.

I ordered a burger. They brought me a small, dry patty on a bun with nothing to go on it. I asked if I could at least get some lettuce, onion, and mustard ( I”ve never been served a burger without something on it. I was told that’s the way it comes!). They brought a small portion of lettuce, a spoon full of chopped onion and a couple of mustard packs. They charged me TWO DOLLARS EXTRA for that. Uh- not going back!

Let me say that me and my family have been to Sylvia’s many times. When I had my kitchen remodel (about 4 weeks without a stove) I would visit Sylvia’s twice a week. My co-workers and myself order lunch regularly. We took our out of town adult son there today for a meal. He ordered cat fish that was not fresh and the taste was awful. I was so disappointed with the manager’s/owner’s response. She said “fish was too expensive to replace it.” I will not be returning or recommending Sylvia’s again. Loved the wait staff though.

Happened upon this little gem as we were visiting North Carolina. Good food and not too expensive. I had a chicken parm sub and wife had spinach lasagna. Seemed to be several regulars as the waitress addressed them by name. Worth a stop.
