The grits are stone ground and substantial. A true historic recipe that makes them absolutely delicious without adding cheese or anything else. I loved them. Also the hash browns are cooked in duck fat and delicious. Don’t write them off.
I had the pimento cheese omelette because weight gain be damned, I want a decadent culinary adventure, and I was in no way disappointed.
Apparently it’s breakfast served in a jar. When she was explaining this to us it was with a nasty face and it was like pulling teeth. YEA, KEEP YOUR ATTITUDE AND YOUR JAR BREAKFAST !!!

From what I could see of his grits (since mine never arrived) they were quite dense and served in a lump—looked more like a scoop of ice cream. There were two service members taking and serving orders, and neither seemed particularly concerned about the wait time or our dissatisfaction with the service. Our server brought the lemon with the check.
It wasn’t unusually busy. I’d hate to think that service was intentionally bad to discourage black patrons from returning, but I wouldn’t be surprised. My friends and I are all professionals, but we were dressed casually.
Unfortunately, I would not dine here again.
I had to get it to go, but if you can stop in and sit down I think you’ll be glad you did.
The person at the counter gave me a quick run down of which foods would travel best and was kind & helpful.
