Food consistent and fantastic. Front of the house, not so much so. Dined twice within the last three months, and while I’m not a regular, I’d expect more than a “are you with the party of seven” when I walk in (we weren’t the party of seven). My two friends arrived four minutes later, and we sat at the bar. We were the only ones at the bar, it was early, 5:00. When she was done texting behind the short wall located to the left of the entrance, she went to the cash register, counted out money, probably 60 seconds or so, then approached my two friends and said what can I get you, literally. She’s been at it too long, is very complacent, and doesn’t seem to care whether you’re there or not, anyone can tell. Not the kind of hospitality you’d expect from a fine dining restaurant. A refresher course on hospitality could help.

Service was top notch. Cocktails were excellent. Food was good, but you will definitely pay for it. The steak was not cooked quite to request… The cost to the experience didn’t match.
Will be coming back to try other menu items though!

Our experience at Silver Coach was one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. The ribs had almost no meat on them – they were very tough. When we received our bill, the prices did not match what the menu said. We were given the response that “the menu has a disclaimer stating that she can change prices whenever she wants.” Each of our entrees was $10-$12 more than the advertised price on the menu. Very very disappointed.

We wanted to go all out for dinner at least one night on our honeymoon and chose the Silver Coach. We were not disappointed. Friendly staff, pretty and historic setting, good drinks, and amazing food. We had the short ribs as an appetizer; it was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. We both had one of the steaks on special for our main course and they were cooked to perfect and covered in a delicious sauce. No complaints from either of us, and my husband is very particular about steaks!

Decided to pop in for Friday night fish. Our meal was so delicious!! Caesar Salad, New England Clam Chowder (excellent!), beer battered cod, potatoes crusted walleye, sautéed veggies. We finished with a to die for White Russian Chocolate Pie. So yummy. Oh, and a Key Lime Pie Martini. So yummy!
So I came back again for the fish fry, and to try a couple of different cocktails. I was in the mood for an expresso martini, and Brenda did one better. She custom blended a chocolate expresso martini! The fried cod is still the best around and it’s served with plenty of tartar sauce. To finish off, I tried a pink squirrel for dessert. All together, an excellent meal. We’ll be back again soon.

The food was great. I got the fried vegetables, a Ceasars salad and the mahi-mahi special. It tasted amazing. The atmosphere is amazing and the entry way looks amazing. The server Sydney was terrific at her job. Super bubbly and professional. The chef was also friendly. Would highly recommend a stop. There is also artwork throughout and a cool looking bar.

Fun find – Silver Coach Supper Club – our server Juliet made it a fun visit and offered the private dining room that was formerly a “sleeper” in the original train car – very interesting details in this private dining room for two. In all candor dining at the Silver Coach deserves more time than we really wanted to devote as we were just driving through and ordered from their “lighter fare” portion of the menu. I tried the short rail ribs with fries and she tried the chicken strips with fries – again, probably not what we’d typically order for finer dining. My ribs were delicious, tasty, tangy sauce and her chicken strips were a little dry but tasty enough. We both had Brandy Old fashioneds from the bar and they were excellent. The decor is step back in time, nicely done. The next time we visit, we’ll allow more time to soak in the ambiance and enjoy the full supper club experience. Enjoy, we did.

Went there on a visit with our family from Wisconsin Rapids visiting my in-laws. There were 7 of us. We ordered escargot and it was slightly fishy tasting. My daughter had Jambalaya that was over $40. My wife had a skirt steak that was very tough and over cooked. She ordered it medium and it was overdone. I ordered a filet and the steak was good but was also overcooked. I paid for three people and with the tip it was $300. We each had two cocktails each which contributed to the cost but $40 for jambalaya? The meal had a high cost and was subpar.

Had no idea this was fine dining! It is beautiful inside. The staff was great. Had the crawfish balls for appetizers so good! Blackened tuna steak for dinner, spicy! Delicious. Will be back.

We ended up here after too long of a wait t another place. The appetizer crawfish balls were so delicious I couldn’t wait to get the entree, shrimp and scallops over linguini. It was so good, I had to save room for dessert, banana foster. The flavors were heavenly; we will be back!
