In Reno for a work trip and with company paid meals, I made sure to search for Filipino food b/c I don’t cook. Found Silong on Maps and instantly felt my mouth watering looking at the selection of Filipino dishes to eat!

Great food, dining in made me feel like I’m at home in the Philippines

I don’t usually write a review. The only time I write is really good or really bad. I’m not local of Reno so there’s something special in this place. Yes it’s Filipino foods. Not all Filipino foods are taste good. But this one you can say “wow”. Even my kids they love the pork barbecue. Right now they don’t offer dine in, just take out only. They have combo meal or you can order a la carte which 3 different sizes. The prices are very reasonable and very affordable. The owner Peter is very nice.

Enter Silong Kainang Pinoy and you are stepping back into past generations of traditional home-cooked meals prepared with not only experienced culinary training but also, and most importantly, humility and LOVE! It is an experience you need only try but once to become a regular. The lumpia, lechon, salted pork, and meunedo are sure to please however, the selections frequently change so there’s always the element of surprise.

Very stingy. Look at the meat—there’s barely any. The woman acted like she doesn’t want to give out any meat. I also got some flavorless Lechon—$18 for a tiny package. I paid $31 for this combo and Lechon. What a ripoff. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

This is America, not the Philippines. I don’t understand why they are still so stingy with their portions.

I cant give an honest food review because of the three times I attempted to come here they are always closed. The sign says 11am -6 pm daily but its closed on 3 pm June 9 2025, a monday. Is this bussiness ever open? Reading the other reviews, the food seems good and I’ve been wanting to try it.

Delicious monggo, pinakbet, and langka. Food was cold though and we had to ask them to reheat.
