My wife wanted to take me out for my birthday. As i was driving up the road, I saw the restaurant called the Silo steakhouse. We made a reservation on Friday evening for Saturday night. Got to the restaurant, was not what i was expecting for the reviews i have read. The decor is definitely outdated, we were seated quickly. Were given two menu’s. We started out with an app of fried onion rings, they were very good. We also ordered two soda’s, they were huge, 24oz to be exact. I looked over the menu, I was really in the mood for a good steak, so was my wife and decided to order thier 14oz ribeye with green beans and hand cut fries. My wife ordered the same. She ordered her steak medium rare and I ordered mine medium. The steaks were sitting on our table 12 minutes after we ordered them. Its really hard to cook a 1″ thick ribeye to a medium temp in less than 10 minutes. The pictures I posted tell the story. Im not really big on food reviews, but I dropped 117.00 on two steaks that were no where close to what they should have been. My wife sent hers back to get a little more cooking time on it, came back just as raw as mine already was. The service was good, the waitress was named Calie, very friendly and even made mention that thier cook likes to send out meat undercooked. I never post a picture of what ive eaten, but this cant be overlooked. Somebody might just get sick.

Pleasant experience overall for lunch on a Friday. Moderately busy, but not rushed. Service was very good but food does come out slowly. Mediocre food, I had a catfish sandwich, somewhat cold when served, bun was soggy with a sauce on both sides on the bread. Garnish was fresh. Fries seemed undercooked, cold and hard, if fresh they could be much better. Daily special was a steak quesadilla, poorly assembled with few large chunks of steak with a folded-over tortilla. Would be better thin sliced steak. More care could have made this a better lunch.

While searching for fresh produce in Gay, Georgia, we discovered Silo Steakhouse, a place we hadn’t visited before. Deciding to stop for lunch, even though it was near the end of their service, turned out to be a pleasant experience. Our server, a delightful young woman, offered helpful suggestions from the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the satisfying chicken salad plate, and the iced tea was perfectly refreshing. Overall, we had a lovely time and plan to return whenever we’re in the area. Definitely worth a visit!

Great food and service. Filet was an excellent cut and very flavorful. Ranch dressing was the good ranch dressing. I enjoyed the loaded baked potato salad, too. Excellent meals all around even down to the mason jar of sweet tea. During the need to sit inside solely it may be a tad difficult to fit many large parties at once.

I was really disappointed with my meal. The steak had way too much fat and gristle and very little actual meat. For the price, I expected a quality cut, not something I had to trim half of just to get a few decent bites.
The flavor was nothing special, and it definitely didn’t feel like a good value. I won’t be back for steak here and can’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a properly trimmed, quality steak.

We found this little gem on our way back from Thomaston. We ordered some appetizers. That burger was AWESOME & thick at that. I’ve traveled quite a bit throughout Tennessee, NC, SC & Georgia, and the Silo’s sweet tea…is THEE BEST this side of the Mason-Dixon Line! You won’t be disappointed to stop by. My husband got the Nachos. They’re bigger than usual and they weren’t cheap with the ground beef either. It’s not exactly cheap to eat at the Silo but it’s worth it. Trust me. Thank you for the staff being so kind. We appreciated you all.

The ribeye steak was so good, big portions. The sweet potato fries were out of this world, best I’ve ever had MUST GET. My dad really enjoyed the loaded baked potato salad.

We stopped by for lunch and this was our second visit. The steak is amazing and we had dinner from it too. Great service even with a food allergy they took time to make sure she was good with her order. Highly recommend you take a drive over and have a good meal.

We were a party of 2 on a Friday evening right at a opening time. Out for a date night. The Buffalo shrimp were great. We both ordered steaks medium rare and they came out medium. The flavor was still good. They don’t have real butter for the baked potatoes which should be a sin for any place calling themselves a Steakhouse. With half of a beer remaining, the waitress didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert and just brought us the check rushing us out. I understand that it is a Friday night, but we were at a table for two. We weren’t occupying a larger table. Afterwards we both had headaches similar to anytime we eat MSG, so I am assuming they rely on chemicals and fake ingredients to keep costs down. We won’t be returning and spending our money there.

The atmosphere was great! We had a very nice dinner. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered mac and cheese for our little girl. All we can say is that it isn’t Kraft. The fish was well prepared but the slaw was lacking. We will be back. It is nice to have a place to eat in Gay.
