LOVED my time at SIFR! Got the tasting menu which was plenty of food and tasted amazing. Every single item was spectacular. The lamb shank was definitely a highlight. Oh and the date pudding with salted caramel ice cream, literally AMAZING!! Our waiter Edgar especially made our night so great, he was so attentive and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. He made great suggestions about what to order. He is amazing!! Would definitely come back soon!

During Chicago Restaurant Week, Sifr delivered a dining experience that was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we sat down, the evening unfolded like a culinary celebration.
The meal began with their hummus, a silken and perfectly seasoned spread, paired with warm, fresh pita. So good we had to order an extra. Our appetizer of mushroom and chicken kebabs was a savory delight—juicy, aromatic, and beautifully grilled, offering a medley of flavors in each bite.
The star of the evening, however, was the lamb shank with pilaf rice. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, infused with deep, comforting spices that paired exquisitely with the fragrant, perfectly cooked pilaf. Each bite was rich and soulful, showcasing mastery in both technique and taste.
And then came dessert: the date syrup sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. It was indulgent, luscious, and layered with flavor.
Overall, the food made this one of the most memorable dinners in Chicago. Without hesitation, 10/10.

Bojana B was more than just a friendly waitress, but soon became a food and travel adviser and honestly genuine friendly human being. The food here was very impressive, heightening even the simplest of foods such as pita bread, and adding something special that left me wanting more. Bojana’s recommendations included the scallops, branzino, and date pudding with salted caramel ice cream…. As I was fed plate by plate, I was left dreaming of eating this food and traveling the world to find these flavors. This was a God given experience and pleasant surprise! Thank you!

A dinner, before another show, and though it was rushed, we tried many a delicious item on their menu. The restaurant also has a tasting menu which we couldn’t try. Would love to go back and try the tasting menu!
The dishes that stood out were the lamb kebab, the batatas, the chicken kebab and the maitake. We ordered family style and got pita and hummus for the table. Also creamy and delicious.

First, the food. All was tasty and interesting. The most interring Halloumi and Hummus, I’ve had. The lamb kabobs were where it was AT! Yum.
BUT, it was a little expensive for what it was. Especially the cocktails
As an aside, I REALLY appreciated their mellow lighting. None of that exposed LEDs – so relaxed and pleasant.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! The food was phenomenal; we ordered way too much, but it was worth it! We had the vegetarian mezze, a must in my opinion! You have so many different spreads to try, every single one was super tasty and full of flavor! We also got the halloumi, the way it is prepared is different from what I’ve had before so I loved it! For our mains, we had the chicken kebab and the prawns, which were absolutely delicious! We also got the potatoes as a side, not my favorites, but still tasty! We were so full that we couldn’t get dessert. We also got some drinks; I had a very refreshing mocktail! The service was quick and super attentive, I would definitely go back!

We went for restaurant week. Food was all impressionable and good. Service was friendly. It was just extremely busy, so our second course was missing one dish. It came in about 10 minutes. Other than that, a fun and visually appealing experience. Do not try their NA rose, it tasted like spoiled apple juice.

Opted for the $60 four course tasting menu. Portion sizes were spot on for the price point. The hummus was fresh, well presented, and more complex compared to average. Maitake mushroom was great with the little char and pepper purée. The Branzino was cooked perfect and paired well with the chermoula sauce. Finishing with the date pudding resulted in an excellent value. Would recommend.

We decided on Sifr after seeing them featured on the local news. The food looked delicious and I thought this would be at a great dinner choice for my 22 wedding anniversary. I made a 6pm reservation for a Sat and selected the heated rooftop. We had no issues with parking as there was plenty paid street parking. Upon arriving at our designated time we were asked to wait for seating which lead me to believe there had been a mixup with the reservation somewhere. Staff were very friendly and the bartender even provided a complimentary champagne while waiting downstairs at the bar. We waited here for about 35 mins. After being asked to our table on the rooftop we were then asked to wait at the bar for an additional 5 mins or so for our table which seemed odd considering we were asked to come up because it was ready. After being seated our server Will was very welcoming and helpful in breaking down the menu as this was our first time. He guided us course by course for a personalized experience based on what we shared we liked and disliked. We ordered the short rib hummus to start which was AMAZING! I literally had one corner left and patiently awaited a 2nd pita to savor that final bite! It was DELICIOUS! We decided on the butternut squash with couscous risotto and lamb shank which came highly recommended. Both were plenty to share.
The squash dish was mind blowing! The flavors and textures of the squash and couscous were like nothing I’ve ever tasted! The lamb shank was tasty but a bit dry for my taste and rice could have used a sauce of some sort or even juice from the shank. Pricing was fair at $130 ish for the two of us and included one cocktail.
Lastly, for those who care the restroom was cozy, clean, and conveniently located on the rooftop and not back downstairs… lol.
Overall my experience was well rounded and I’d highly recommend and be happy to return and try some other dishes!
