Sierra Briganti is a nice Italian restaurant in Sierra Madre with an outdoor patio that gives you the mountain view. We went when the weather was nice but had to sit outside because there were too many bugs flying around.
We read somewhere that there was no corkage fee but found out afterwards that that’s not the case. I believe we paid over $10 for the corkage fee.
The bread with oil and vinegar was delicious and it come complementary with the meal. We also ordered the burrata to share as a starter. The mozzerella was amazing fresh. The whole dish was amazing.
My friend opted for the steak, which was the special that day. I read some great reviews of the pasta nere, which has squid ink pasta, shrimp, and scallop in a curry cream sauce. My friend’s steak was tender and flavorful. My dish, however, was way too salty. I personally eat very salty myself and even put salt on strawberries and oranges so if it’s even too salty for me, I can guarantee you that most people won’t be able to eat it.
Our server was very nice and replaced the dish for me right away. The second dish was still somewhat too salty but not nearly as bad as the first time. I didn’t quite enjoy the strong flavor of curry but really liked the squid ink pasta. The shrimp and scallop were both cooked perfectly.
There were plenty of free parking in the restaurant’s private lot and on the street, especially on a week day.

One of my favorite Italian spots but we just drove up to see that it’s shuttered. Looks like a sushi place is moving in. Google, Yelp, etc need to update their websites. Beyond a tragedy.
