First time trying Sid’s and I love it. I got the white beans & rice with two sides, green beans and corn. This combo also comes with a meat. I got the catfish…two good size pieces that were cooked perfectly. Light and flaky, just the right amount of crispness, also with a thick piece of Texas toast. Everything was seasoned just right without needing to add anything. The portion size….wow, you won’t be disappointed at all. They’ll be see I g me a lot more….there are many more things on the menu to try.

Ms Shantas customer service was exceptional! Great community sweet tea. Best fried pickles, perfectly spiced, the breading was perfectly golden and crunchy with no oily soggyness. The catfish was just like the catfish…. perfect! Tarter sauce has bit of a sweetness that countered the spicy in the fish batter. Great pairing! The only thing I didn’t care for was the buffalo wing sauce.
Prices a tad high but with that taste, i definitely don’t mind paying that.
Very clean and so was the bathroom!

This was our 1st time coming here. First off, I have never sat down to eat somewhere and our food was served on plastic plates and our drinks in to go cups. I don’t know maybe that’s their style since they are called “Back Porch”. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak which was ok but my husband’s was not. He ordered the Fried Pork Chop Basket and it was hard and rubbery. They cooked him another one and it was no better. The waitress was nice and attentive. She was apologetic but the owner was not. We will not be coming back here that’s for sure.

Too much money for sub par food. To further elaborate I got Philly steak and cheese which had to be sent back because of no cheese. We got a dozen wings which tasted like they had been fried in old grease. We got boiled shrimp which was actually very good. The bill was 76.00. I had to hold on to my chair to keep from falling out. And the onion sticks would have been better if cooked in new oil.

We had a special church event and the staff at Sid’s back porch kitchen was willing to stay open for us after hours. The food was awesome and so was the service. Everyone was extremely nice. We appreciate your time. We will be back.

They can do better. Entrees are amazing (unless you have a problem, for some reason people, including myself, have had trouble getting an order fixed correctly), sides could use some work other than the Krabby bites. Service is ok, nothing special, price might be a little more than it should be but the portions make you feel a little better about it. All in all I think if they change a few small things they could be around for a long time. (Or not) Also I have been a few times myself and I find from my own experiences, and asking others, that the restaurant is better and worse at different times of day. Whatever it is they need to make some changes and I would probably suggest maybe retraining the staff in a more mainstream way, the laid back setting is ok but it’s not going to get any better like that. I think the restaurant has potentially and I’d like to see it get better. Until then, I find myself hesitate to go.
