Sidebar was such a great experience! The atmosphere was great (dim lighting), service was awesome (Guillermo recommended the shrimp baja tacos and a wine that would pair well with the porkchop), and we will definitely be back! Oh and they have complimentary valet parking! The shrimp baja tacos were really good and spicy, the steak was a little overcooked but had great flavor, the porkchop tasted like a chicken parm – really good – and the creme brûlée was a good ending to our dinner (didn’t really taste like white chocolate but it had good flavor – I was expecting it to be a little thicker consistency).

Absolutely outstanding! Right from the first impression when you walk in, but when you rould the corner into the main dining area and see the backdrop of the bar,bit will wow you. Cassandragave us amazing service. Helping with drink and good suggestions, but also telling us about the history of the building and the restaurant. It was a tip notch experience all around. Bi would highly recommend checking this place out. I know that the next time we visit the RGV we will most definitely have Side Bar at the top of our list.

my boyfriend and i came here for our anniversary and it was the best decision ever. our waitress Cassandra is amazing she was so kind and was knowledgeable in her drinks and food, describing the flavors and going based on what we told her we liked. i only like fruity drinks and my boyfriend likes a strong smooth flavor, she recommended a couple and we got them all it was so yummy. for appetizer we got the filet mignon stuffed cups (cannot remember the names of the food very well haha) then for the entree we got the pork chop parmesan and the signature lamb which were both AMAZING and the pork chop was HUGE i could not finish it i had to take it to go, to end our dinner we got the white chocolate crème brûlée it was delicious and it even had a little happy anniversary stick. 11/10 dinner and 11/10 service cassandra made our experience amazing, we loved everything.

We’ve been wanting to try Sidebar RGV for a while, and it was the perfect choice for date night. Leslie took amazing care of us from start to finish. The appetizers (tuna tower and empanadas) were absolutely delicious. I had the salmon, my husband had the lamb chops (which he loved), and the risotto was pure perfection. We couldn’t leave without dessert, so we tried the chocolate tres leches… worth every single calorie! Highly recommend.

This is a Beautiful little restaurant, delicious food and inviting atmosphere. Guillermo is our favorite server, we will be requesting him every time we eat here. The filet minion was delicious. I would definitely get the crème brûlée again. I love every wine I’ve tried here so far, best place to get a glass of wine in town.

Last night, I celebrated my 60th birthday at Sidebar in Edinburg—and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.
From the moment we walked in, everything was a perfect—the ambiance, the cocktails, the food, the service. Sidebar isn’t just a great restaurant for the Rio Grande Valley—it easily competes with top-tier establishments anywhere. I felt like I was at an amazing place in NYC.
We started with the tuna tartar tower and the filet mignon plantain cups—both were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. For my entrée, I went with the lamb chop lollipops over risotto—cooked to perfection and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth good. I finished the night with a classic crème brûlée that was as good as any I’ve had in New York or Vegas.
To drink? A couple of Kettle One filthy martinis with blue cheese-stuffed olives for me—exactly how I like them. Strong, cold, and dangerously smooth.
Our server, Robert, was top-notch—attentive (maybe even a bit too attentive at times!), but truly professional and kind throughout. The music was perfect. Not too loud, and perfectly matched the atmosphere. And as we were leaving, one of the owners took time to chat with us about the restaurant’s story and some of the events they host. It wasn’t just a handshake and a thank-you—he made us feel like our presence genuinely mattered and was appreciated.
This place is something special. You can tell the staff and ownership take deep pride in what they’re doing, and it shows in every detail.
If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience in the RGV—Sidebar is it. Hands down the best meal I’ve had in the area, and one I’ll be thinking about for a long time. I’ll absolutely be back, and I’ll be bringing friends.
