Friendly. Side Street Diner is a pleasant, inviting and attentive diner. Like many diners breakfast is available all day. Unlike many diners adult beverages are also available! SSD also has a lovely selection of baked goods available for dining in and for take away. My experience was great, attentive service from multiple people working there, great food, decent prices, comfortable atmosphere. I think my favorite thing was how truly friendly the service was from everyone there.

I’ve been to Side Street Cafe twice, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointingly similar. The server came off as rude, which set a negative tone for my visits. The kitchen was incredibly slow; we waited 40 minutes just for a French fry, a side of bacon, and kids’ chicken strips with fries. It seems like they prioritize to-go orders over in-house diners, which is frustrating.

As for the food, it was quite basic. The fries were overcooked and lacked seasoning. I won’t be returning, as I expect more attentiveness to patrons and better food quality. Disappointed.”

Good gracious, what a lovely find! We were passing through and looking for a breakfast/brunch spot. The food was so good. My husband had the Hoagie, and he joked it came with its own salad as it was piled up so high. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito, filled with the fluffiest eggs and tastiest sausage. The service was amazing. Everyone worked together as a team, and everyone was so incredibly friendly and upbeat. Wish we lived closer so we could come back again and again.

What a cozy comfortable and warm place for any meal. I was visiting my brother from out of town. The people made me feel like a local and even met another gentleman visiting from Florida who stopped and talked with us. The decor is special with all the memories of the brands I grew up with. There were 7 of us and the accommodated us nicely. The service was warm and prompt. The food choices were numerous anything from breakfast to good old turkey and mashed potatoes. We had 3 people with gluten allergies and they were very accommodating. Ther deserts are worth a visit just for them. We brought home one piece of chocolate cake which did not satisfy all who wanted to sample it. Will definitely go back and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good meal.

I visit Grosse Pointe only once or twice each year. Side street is always a must visit place! I am never disappointed here. The lemonade is tasty, and the Mac

With house salad is delicious! I love their homemade ranch dressing. The service is always great as is the ambience and variety of decorations. Keep up the lovely work, what a great spot! It is so cute.

Small diner with great food. There were four of us and we ordered: Pasta with asparagus, Eggs Benedict, Hot Turkey sandwich & aMaurice Salad. We all loved our meals. Also had a very yum.y Peach Cobbler for dessert.

A really fun local diner. Susan was our server and did a really good job. Unexpected vibe with its own pastry chef and in house dressings, meat products, fresh ingredients. Lots of locals picking up take away and food delivery pick up. Staff seems to know all their regulars. Salads were generous and fresh, house made buffalo mozzarella. Great place.

Family just has a delicious meal at SideStreet Diner !

Bummed I didn’t get pictures of all the food before we started eating! Wraps & Sandwiches were so good. My kids said they had the best cheese sticks! Everyone needs to try it! Apple pie was the best!

When I am in the Grosse Pointe area, I always stop at the Side Street Diner. It is clean with cute, fun décor. They have delicious comfort food. All their homemade soups are terrific. I especially love their dill pickle soup. My favorite entrees so far are the roast turkey dinner and the meatloaf dinner. Save room for their desserts, which are made fresh daily. Their cakes and the peach cobbler are fabulous. The servers are friendly and helpful. I met one of the owners when checking out. She was warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Legitimately the best patty melt I have ever eaten in my life. No lie. So glad I stopped in while in GP. I was hungry and wanted something ‘local’ not fast-food and found them a block down from a job I was working. Will definitely be back to try more!
