I’ve been wanting to come to this takeout restaurant for almost a year, but I lived in Columbia South Carolina; when I came in town I had to try this place. It is excellent!!!!The oxtail and rice or the oxtail and rice and peas. Amazing. I would definitely go back please be aware that it may be hard to find but they are literally in the building where you’ll see 6888 right underneath that sign Try them out.

Overall the food is really good. I got the pork chop meal with macaroni and yams as well as ordered the catfish meal with greens and macaroni. Food was seasoned really well.
Just note this is carry out only and if it’s busy the waiting area can get packed. We waited about 35 minutes so not too bad because it’s only one person cooking, overall I was very pleased and will return.

When I first walked in, the space felt quite cramped and crowded, with very limited seating available. However, the staff was warm and welcoming, and I appreciated their friendly service throughout my visit.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The macaroni and cheese was generously cheesy, but lacked seasoning, leaving it rather bland. The chicken was also underwhelming it lacked flavor and didn’t have the seasoning I was hoping for. The candied yams were overly sweet for my taste, with a strong nutmeg flavor that felt a bit overpowering. The collard greens seemed to have a hint of sugar as well, which didn’t suit my palate, though others might enjoy that style.
On a brighter note, the strawberry lemonade was absolutely fantastic. It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and easily the highlight of the meal.I’d give it a solid 10/10.

I ordered on Sunday, March 8th and picked up my order late in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the macaroni and cheese was extremely salty. I’m not sure if it was just an off batch, but I ordered 5 sides and they all tasted the same, so I wasn’t able to eat them. That was disappointing because I was really looking forward to it. The yams were very good, the catfish was good, and the chicken was okay. The cabbage just wasn’t my personal preference. I hope the macaroni issue was just a one-time thing because the rest of the meal had some good parts.

This was my first time trying this establishment. I got the catfish, macaroni, green beans, baked beans, and cornbread. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade. Everything was great, I would recommend some hot sauce with the catfish and the cornbread was just okay. Other than that I would say 10/10. I ate the catfish without hotsauce because I forgot to ask if they had any. I was served as soon as I walked through the door. This was on Memorial Day in addition to NATO being in town and the roads being blocked. I would come back again for sure.

Going to give MY honest opinion!
Everything was mediocre in my honest opinion the chicken was huge and the macaroni is made with jumbo shells and taste like a pasta dish like fettuccini not how I would expect macaroni to taste and the fish was ok just a little soggy.. The candied yams were the only half way decent thing. As a part of the big back/ foodie community this was not up to my standards.

I got the Shhhhh……My Little Secret Bowl and there is nothing little about it. Great on flavor and taste, huge bowl of goodness. The greens, Mac & cheese, chicken and I am not a sweet potatoes fan but these were fantastic. It was a little wait but worth every scrumptious bite. The strawberry passion lemonade excellent. Can’t wait to try something else. My only complaint is waiting on the food, but well worth it. I wish I could have eaten the whole bowl but I have to take a nap.
