Food:
The food was the biggest disappointment of the visit. Across the board, everything came out bland and severely under-seasoned. The patty melt and garage burger lacked any real flavor punch, the brisket sliders were forgettable, and even the mac and cheese burger couldn’t save itself with richness. Sweet potato fries were limp and didn’t stand out. Overall, it felt like the kitchen was afraid of a little salt.
Service:
Staff was friendly and polite, but execution was lacking. Refills were slow, and there was noticeable uncertainty about whether certain food items were even available. Good attitude, but not enough attention to detail or menu knowledge.
Atmosphere:
This is what kept the place from becoming a total crime scene. Huge center bar, cool garage-themed décor and plenty of TVs. If you’re here to watch a game and have a drink, the setting absolutely delivers.
The verdict:
Sickies Garage looks great and feels fun, but the food doesn’t live up to the hype. With better seasoning and sharper service, this place could be solid. As it stands, not a must-eat destination.
We had an excellent server, Sophia who caught us up on the House Brews and Specials. Loved the Happy Hour deals…too bad it came with a Budweiser instead of a House draft. *Not going to drink Budweiser*
Ordered some wings and two house Blondes. *Poping Pineapple and Wicked “something couldn’t rember” plenty of garlic and smoke though*
Both flavors were delicious. Order Tots instead of fries, then you can dip them in the sauce!
Next time we are in town we will definitely stop back.
Would def recommend for the carnivore “burger enthusiast” or beer guy/girl. Staff was nice. Plenty of t.vs to watch whatever is on.
The outside drew our attention with an old fashioned garage feel
They pride themselves on 50 burgers and 50 beers. Whilst we didn’t get anywhere near 50. (Just 1 each!) they ticked the box over and over if you crave a proper American burger type meal.
The portions were plentiful and tasty. The service was top drawer (We were served by Aubrey) and the “local honey” beer was very good. Shame I was driving..
definitely on the list for when we come back and would recommend to anyone who is near by. Or not as it’s also worth the detour!
The bartender Stephen was super personable and attentive and I would come back for him alone. Also, love the drink specials… that being said maybe I came when all the food had been cooked in the morning and sat under a heat lamp until I ordered the things no one should.. The food is god awful.
Spare tire sampler… I’m not going to complain about basic apps fried..
Meat sampler – Take off “award winning” wings now. And why do you make chicken jerky and not chicken fingers like everyone else?
$25 Cobb salad… why does my Avacado snap in half it is so under ripe and do you dry your hard boiled eggs why is it rubbery? 1/2 mile away Publix sells it for better and twice the size for half the price guys.
