We have been here a few times for takeout, and some menu items are really excellent, while some miss the mark a little.

We always love to visit a Thai restaurant, and this was a pleasant experience. We were greeted by a very nice waitress who treated us very well during our visit.

Service was nice. Plenty of seating on the day I was there. I thought the chicken in my dish was hitting that day and then at checkout I saw the lower rating. Perhaps they will soon improve.

This place was amazing! I had the fried rice with pork and my partner had the pad Thai with duck. They were both phenomenal. This was the first time I ate a dish without searching out the meat for flavor. The rice and noodles were so flavorful we almost forgot about the meat. I also usually do a soy pour over first. I didn’t even need it or anything else to make it taste great. It needed no help at all. Edited to add: they did NOT skimp on the meat like other places. Plenty and tasty.

We’ve been customers for 3 years, and I’m pretty sure we’ve seen a few changes in staff and maybe ownership. I only dropped one star because the chef has developed a pathological hatred of chicken sate. The last 4 out of 5 times we’ve brought home sate, it had the consistency of cardboard. You have to stop brutalizing the sate – it’s supposed to be moist and tender, not beef jerky. Otherwise it’s a very friendly staff with pretty good Thai food for Asheville – which is not a Thai lover’s paradise. We haven’t really found a top tier Thai place within 40 minutes of Asheville – and believe me, we’ve tried them all.

My wife and I frequent Siam Thai, because it’s the closest option for us to get Thai food. I will admit there are other, more flavorful options in the area, but they’re very far. Siam Thai does a great job of balancing budget, accessibility, and unique flavors in a cute spot with great service. They have several vegan options that suit me well, but I do have to be very careful about ordering due to some of the more “hidden” ingredients, like fish sauce, shrimp paste, and some other ingredients. My go-to lately has been the black pepper tofu, but I also enjoy the drunken noodles (be sure to specify vegan, as I think this is commonly made with one of the ingredients mentioned above). We also get an order of fresh rolls with every meal! One specific thing to take note of if you like spicy stuff – the Thai chilis that are soaking in a liquid, while delicious, are NOT vegan (the liquid contains fish sauce) –I unfortunately found this out after falling in love with them. If you are craving Thai chilis, you might be able to request dry ones, or else just use the other spice options that are made available.

3.5 Have only ordered for pick-up. Nothing fancy, but decent Thai food. We would probably choose a different thai place if one were closer, though. And their online ordering system is buggy and doesn’t work the last few times we tried ordering pickup
