Disappointed Regulars After Years of Great Visits
My father, my wife, and I went to Si Señor in Hammond two nights ago. We’ve eaten here for 2–3 years now and always considered it one of the best Mexican spots in town. The food has always been great, and our server that night, John, started off excellent — greeted us quickly, polite, and professional.
But the issue came when my dad ordered a beef burrito, meat and cheese only — no lettuce, no avocado, nothing extra. The server suggested a beef wrap instead, and we went with his recommendation, assuming it was the same thing. What came out was full of spinach, avocado, and other ingredients my dad specifically said he didn’t want.
When we politely pointed it out, the server immediately said they couldn’t take it off the bill because “that’s what we ordered.” That’s not right — we ordered based on his suggestion after clearly stating what my dad wanted multiple times. It was a simple mistake that could’ve been handled better, but instead we got told “no” without hesitation.
For three people, our bill came out to $96, and we always tip 20% because we’ve been loyal customers for years. But after this, I honestly don’t see us coming back. Very disappointing experience for a place we’ve always supported.

We travel around the Northshore quite a bit eating and doing food reviews but Si Senor has to be our overall favorite Mexican restaurant. The Cherizo dip is epic and I have never had a meal here that wasn’t spectacular. The staff is always friendly and I love their pet friendly outdoor seating!

The atmosphere and food is good, but the menu prices may not be what you will be charged. The system price can differ greatly from what is on the physical and online menu. Then the manager provides excuses and doesn’t give an accurate refund of the difference.

This is my first time being here since they have changed from Adobe. The atmosphere is really nice, the staff is really courteous and attentive. They recognized me from my restaurant job and immediately struck up a conversation, making me feel right at home. Not to mention the food is excellent, definitely one of the best Mexican places I’ve visited in town, overall. It is a Tuesday afternoon and the restaurant is not too busy either so everything has been super fast and timely as well. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking looking a good bite to eat and friendly atmosphere.
Update 3/16 – visited again because the food was so good. Was impressed all over again. My lunch for 2 people was only $23, cannot beat that! Please give this place a visit if you haven’t.

I was just passing through and found this place. Great flavor and amazing service. The manager asked how my guac was and explained the recipe then took the time to ask my name. In all the restaurants I’ve been to around the world, that was a first. Highly recommend the burrito wrap.
