Si Señor Flavor of New Mexico offers a fresh approach to the original Si Señor restaurant on Amador. You can still enjoy the same delicious, cooked-from-scratch meals, now with the added convenience of a to-go option, alongside traditional dine-in service. This is ideal for those on the go who desire restaurant-quality food, whether for a quick meal, an after-work dinner, or a family meal at home. Delivery is also available through DoorDash, Uber eats or through their website at a flat rate.

Driving up to Si Señor Flavor of New Mexico on 4130 White Sage in northeast Las Cruces, I was immediately drawn in by the thoughtfully designed architecture and landscaping. The familiar fountain out front brought back memories of the original Si Señor. Though it was not yet noon, a good number of diners were already enjoying their meals in the dining area. Inside, the decor struck a perfect balance, capturing the grandeur of the original Si Señor while seamlessly blending it with a modern, takeout-diner flair.

Stepping inside, I was immediately enveloped by the rich, inviting aromas of fresh chile, beans, and warm bread and sopapillas—the quintessential scents of an exceptional New Mexican restaurant. I was greeted with genuine smiles and a warm welcome as I placed my order. Seated, I admired the decor even more, and after a brief wait, my meal arrived, every bit as delicious as what I remembered from the original restaurant. It was clear this food was prepared with the same care and from-scratch authenticity that cannot be faked. The green chile was divine, featuring perfectly cooked cuts of beef, while the rich red chile that screams fresh and pure, with its succulent, perfectly prepared pork, created an even better chile con carne. The spanish rice, the familiar Arroz Castillo, and the freshly cooked beans offered the same comforting, uniquely homemade taste I had cherished at the original Si Señor.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Sergio Castillo, the esteemed grand patron of Si Señor. A true connoisseur of New Mexican cuisine, particularly chile, Sergio’s passion for the food served in his restaurants is evident in every fiber of his being. He meticulously sources ingredients from local farms, with his chile coming from a single farm in the Hatch area that meets his rigorous standards for quality and flavor.

I also had the honor of meeting his son, Diego Castillo, who manages both restaurant kitchens. Diego shares his father’s dedication to quality. His appreciation for the nuanced flavor and “bouquet” of the chile, which he believes cannot be improved, was music to the ears of a chile farmer’s grandson like myself.

My tour of the kitchen at Si Señor offered a fascinating glimpse into their culinary philosophy. It was a marvel of efficiency, yet absolutely no corners were cut in preparation. The owners and staff were actively involved in every aspect, guaranteeing consistent quality and flavor in both preparation and presentation. Their movements were like a well-oiled machine, a testament to their teamwork.

The air was filled with the unmistakable aroma of fresh red chile, the scent of baking bread, and the preparations for corn tortillas and sopaipillas. Everything was made from scratch. The rich smells of fresh beans and Arroz Castillo were also present, assuring me that any dish ordered from Si Señor would be made with fresh, scratch-made ingredients, free of shortcuts or fillers.

“This is my life,” Sergio declared, proudly gesturing to his kitchen. It’s clear that this space along with his original restaurant, embodies not just his life, but his soul and the love he shares with his family. This same passion and dedication extend to his staff, whose loyalty is a testament to the Castillo family’s genuine affection for their restaurants, their team, and their customers. Such a rare quality is truly only found in a family-owned establishment like Si Señor

02/28/25 We have been going to Si Senor for 10 years now since we moved here. Their food is consistently great and can be seen in this new Si Senor. Chips and 4 salsas with any order. I had the two chile con carne Cambray Burritos with green salsa and my wife had the Chicken Fajita. Refutation is so important with the owner and the family and it shows in their food, service and this beautiful new Si Senor.

04/14/25 I got Ground Beef Nachos and Beer and they even included Chips and 4 salsas. I didn’t even touch the Chips and Salsas as the Nachos are just enormous and delicious. I ate 1/3 and already stuffed. The owner said, even if one merely have beer, they still get the Chips and 4 Salsas. What a deal.

This was my first time going through the drive thru at the Sonoma location. The service was great. The drive thru person was attentive and very focused on making sure I had exactly what I wanted.
When I got the taco salad home, it was large. The shredded beef was tough. The kind of tough that when you chew it gets bigger in your mouth so you have to put it in a napkin. There were so many tough bites I gave up. The oil the shell and chips was fried and needed changing. It was old and tasted like food from an old carnival. I noticed the cheese on top was semi melted and the salad was hot. For 14.00, this ended up in the trashcan. Please think fresh ingredients, change your oil. I’m sticking to burritos next time. I’ve been a customer since they opened.

When we first moved to Cruces (a decade ago), we stopped in at another Si Senor location and let’s just say, we haven’t eaten at Si Senor since. However, when our favorite Mexican delivery restaurant was closed today, we decided that after a decade, we would give it a go…and we’re happy we did!
We ordered a couple Chile Relleno burritos and they’re HUGE! We opted to share one and save the other to share for breakfast (with green sauce, an egg and frijoles of course!). We couldn’t finish them. They were so good! We could have done with a thinner layer of batter, but nonetheless, DELISH!
We weren’t aware that chips and salsa came with our food and ordered more, again, happy that we did because each bag came with 4 different salsas to enjoy.
BTW..delivery was exceptionally fast with DoorDash. Food was still hot upon arrival!
This was a delicious Saturday afternoon delight! Would definitely order again!

Where do I start. I got the Rio Grande Combination. The Green Enchiladas tortilla tasted like they just took it directly out of the package and stuffed it and rolled it and cooked it for five minutes and threw it in it in the container. The texture was off. It was way over salted. The Chili Rillano wasn’t any better and a bit under cooked. The Taquito and Taco were okay but could tell it wasn’t hot when it was packed. Beans and rice tasted like they were from a store box rice and canned beans. I think the only thing that was worth it was the four cups of dips. The chips were unusable because they burnt . It was not worth the $21.00. I should have just gone to Chachi’s that I originally planned to go. They have better food for the same price. This location reminds me of Kitchen Nigjtmares were the Chef and their kitchen staff have given up and pump out subpar and low quality food just for prophet. There was no heart or quality behind this food. Your better off in just going to Wendy’s and having a better tasting meal for less.

If I could rate ZERO stars I would. This establishment has another location off Solano including a restaurant. I would drive there to get at least half the quality and smile than none at all at the White Sage location. At the White Sage location it took 35 minutes for two orders of menudo, and this is the “Express” location. Does the company actually “interview/screen” the employees working there? Its seems more like a “play center” for teens, this includes the so-called shift manager on duty. No courtesy or smiles towards customers, each time I felt we were an inconvenience. This was the third time ordering menudo and NEVER AGAIN. Spent over $30 dollars for “salty hominy soup”. It had so much salt my stomach started cramping. It also tasted like chicken broth was probably added to “stretch out” the menudo on hand. We had to throw everything away. I dont care how many dips and chips you give for free with meals, its NOT worth it. Do better!

The food is inconsistent and we gave this place a shot more than a few times to see if things would get better but no luck, we have only had good food one time. Went tonight and the item we ordered was completely different form the first time we ordered it, manager argued it’s always been like that and no refund was offered. The food is overpriced and only occasionally is it good and we now stay away from this restaurant, buying burritos from the food truck across the street instead, which are better by the way.
Maybe they will go out of business and a good Mexican restaurant will take things over.

Too expensive for the level of service you receive. We spent up to $60 or more per month at this White Sage location, but the refusal to change out an item on the Combo plate coupled with rude window person was enough to put us off the local franchise. Food was good enough to keep us returning.

Upon entering Si Senor, the restaurant was clean, the services was great and the food was good. They were buzy but we didn’t have to wait for our food to long. I had the chicken flauta plate, which comes with bean and rice.

Do not get the carne asada burrito from this location, it is impossible to chew, not even half way through the burrote, I had to stop because the chunks of carne are huge and hard to chew. Also it sucks that they stop serving breakfast so early, 10:40 a.m Sunday. Will just drive all the way to the one on Solano.
