Absolutely love shy bear! From the amazing owners who are very involved with the community, friendly staff from the moment you walk in till you leave. Exceptionally mouth watering food (even brunch on Sunday), delcious and creative craft beers and cocktails. Their unique atmosphere and great entertainment (check the calendar) make for an amazing time for a date night or a family outing. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!!

Food and drinks were fantastic, and a friendly staff to boot! Was looking for somewhere new to try within an hour of my home. Google suggested the Shy Bear, and it did not disappoint. Will definitely make this a regular haunt.

We rearranged our mountain biking trip at Raystown to be able to stop at Shy Bear on the way home because the reviews were so good! Definitely a good decision!! The area has a great vibe, while the outside has great music and energy! The beers were definitely on point! They have a great variety as well as Pa wines and spirits if you’re not feeling like a beer! Our fries and tacos hit the spot! All of the staff were friendly and attentive! Our bar tender took great care of us, making sure we had everything we needed! It’s definitely a place we intend on going again!

Side note… clean bathroom, which is always important!

Shy Bear Brewing is a must-visit destination in Lewistown, PA for beer lovers and travelers alike. This brewery offers a unique combination of delicious craft brews, mouthwatering food, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The brewery is surrounded by greenery and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a good beer with friends.

I was particularly impressed by their beer selection. They have a great variety of styles, from classic IPAs to more experimental brews. They even had a great selection of their own non-alcoholic beverages…one particularly notable option was the Handcrafted Maple Infused Cream Soda!

The staff at Shy Bear is incredibly friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer all of our questions about the beer and the food, and they made us feel right at home.

Overall, my experience at Shy Bear Brewing was fantastic. The atmosphere, the beer, the food, and the staff were all absolutely spectacular. If you’re ever in the Lewistown area, I highly recommend checking it out.

Great food, burger was on point. The Schwarzbomb was excellent . Good live music. The big was fantastic. However the beer cheese was not cheesy enough. It had too much flour in it but all in all it was a great time and I look forward to my next visit.

Wow, I was impressed with Shy Bear Brewery from the minute I pulled into their driveway and that great impression continued as I started to meet the staff and my server. Then my pleasure increased even further as I ate my lunch and drank my beer.

I had the redfish in a Thai green curry and I paired that with their Mexican lager. Both were really tasty. My server was wise in that she warned me that the green curry was spicy but I went ahead with it and I was so glad I did.

If you are looking for a relaxed environment that has great food and beer and, they are very dog friendly… then you should go out of your way to stop at Shy Bear. You will be glad you did.

Very nice brew pub with an extensive selection of beers and other drinks to satisfy everyone.
We stopped after seeing the menu online. They offer dishes that are not the normal pub food.
We had Korean Pork Belly Tacos, Philly cheese steak, fish and chips, hamburger and deep fried cheese curds.
I must say, I will make the 2.5 hour drive for the tacos.
My husband and I enjoyed them that much.
2 other people in our group had the fish and it was unbelievably crunchy. Soo good.
Everybody who tried the cheese curds all said that they were extremely good.
Service was great and we got our orders pretty quick.
All in all, great place to stop if your in the area or out for a long motorcycle ride like we were.

Shy Bear Brewing has become a familiar stop for us on our frequent trips to central PA. The beers are always a 5, especially Jaybird. And the service is usually 4 or higher except one visit where they were understaffed and busy.

On this visit we took our dog for the first time and also dined outside which we hadn’t done before. The service was excellent including to the dog, who got a bowl of water and some hugs which she loved. It was a hot day and the shade cover and fans made the space comfortable.

The food is always interesting and adventurous featuring flavors of Korean Barbecue, Thai curry as well as pork belly, nachos, tacos, flatbreads, cheese curds, great fries and other shareables. Often I’d rate the food a 5, but on this day a solid 4.

Shy Bear also has a busy music program using their outdoor stage, but I haven’t experienced that yet.

I’ve been to Shy Bear at least a half dozen times and will definitely be back. If you’re in Central PA or passing through, it’s worth a stop.

I forgot to mention I always grab a few 4-packs to go! Such a beautiful beverage.
